I am rejecting this response because all involved with this event has constantly passed the buck after being told I would get my money back and then when I requested a refund then no one wanted to return my moneyThe problem lies in responsibility and accountability where business was not properly handledThe center is called the Kings Arts Complex named after Dr Martin Luther King whom was a morally ethical manSo how is it the complex is named after someone whom was morally ethical but yet you don't want to take responsibility in returning someones money for a even that was misrepresented and the accommodations were uncomfortable and not rightThe producer of the film that was at the event representing the center stated he would give me my money back at anytime time then when I have contacted his organization and internet page of the eventI don't receive my money backYou all need to stop making excuses and return my refundI don't understand how you advertise and promote an event for financial income but you have no responsibility in what goes on at the eventHere is the information from your internet page promoted the event on Nov 17..King Arts Complex shared BLACK CENTRAL's photo.November 17, · "A special event focused on economic empowerment and supporting Black Business growth and sustainabilityCome join us to rethink about Black Friday this year! #kingarts #blackfriday " in that interneting posting there was the advertising with the flyer and this is the internet page with that promotion and advertisement [redacted] Regards, [redacted] ***

I am rejecting this response because: I appreciate at least receiving a response but Jamal b [redacted] as well as others involved and affiliated with The Kings Art Complex posted differently on a Columbus [redacted] group page promoting the event about the event and there were flyers that supported what I said or I would not have came Even when I was sick thinking it would help and I asked him last December in our communications for my refund in that message after he and others misrepresented the event and he blocked meSo basically it came off as a scam and a hustle I should've have received my refunds last November through December when I askedI should receive all of what I asked for because of the frustration insensitivity and disrespect I was given by all involved in the event I appreciate the but I need my other refunds as wellRegards, [redacted] ***

In response to the complaint filed, we were a sponsor for the event in question and in that role agreed to secure the venue for the film screeningIt is not part of our businessHowever, I did feel it was important to research the situation in order to help clarify the situation The customer stated that the event was promoted “as though it was a social service job fair event to help people in need to solve these issues of the ones who needed help with them.” However, none of the promotional material, which included flyers (see attached), social media posts and a web page (http://blackoutcoalition.org/blackfriday), mentioned anything about the event being a conference offering social services or a job fairAs noted on the flyer, the schedule included a film screening, panel discussion and vendors. I know MrB***, who was one of the organizers and was mentioned in the complaint, so I reached out to him for insightHe searched through his messages around the timeframe of the event and found a direct message on Facebook prior to the event (see message below and attached screenshot)The message confirms that when she asked what to expect at the event, MrBrewer confirmed that the event was a film screening and panel discussion.Stacie: “HelloWhat exactly is this event on November 27/that you posted in the Columbus Connectivity Group? I went to the webpage you posted but I am still confusedI’ve been sick and am interested in goingIs it a film.and discussion panel?..”Response: “Yes ma’am A film on economic empowerment followed by a panel discussion Dr*** *** and *** *** are some of the special guestsPowerful day coming up” This was a community based event that was organized by individuals from around the state who wanted to bring the film to OhioAfter contacting each of them, I found that none of the women were asked for a refund or had received any complaints about the eventThey confirmed that they had only received complimentsThe customer mentioned that she spoke to a customer service rep, but there were no customer service reps involved with the event. One of the organizers is willing to refund the $paid for the event ticketWith regards to items being sold by vendors, there was no requirement made by the organizers to make a purchase
