Black Diamond Electric, Plumbing, Heating & Air Reviews (3)

We would love to address this complaintLet me bring you up to speed on the specifics of the project.*** *** Hired us to complete $in electrical repairs and additions, and $in plumbing repairs and additions on a home that she was moving intoUpon completion, our estimated
amount stayed the same as the invoice amountShe was happy with the work completed, and did not complain about any quality issues, or anything like thatShe informed us that she was inheriting the home from her father who had recently passed, and that the Title company would be mailing us a check for the work performed. We awaited patiently for the payment to arrive, but after weeks of not receiving it, we started to call her and ask for updatesAfter a few days, she called us back and stated that she is filing bankruptcy, and that we would have to deal with her bankruptcy lawyer to collect paymentIt seemed pretty clear that she had hired us, and allowed us to complete all the work when she knew she would not be able to pay us when completed. We had our first bankruptcy hearing a few weeks ago with her, and she is requesting for us to remove the lien on the home, without paying us for the work, which we will not agree to. She has not called to complain about quality of work, issues with things not working, or anything of that sortIf there are issues we would be more than happy to get them addressed once we know that we will be paid for the work completed. We can provide documentation of all of this if neededWe also have emails from her clearly stating that the work was done, and she never complained about it until now. Please feel free to contact me, Daniel J***, 801-473-

I am rejecting this response because: Well, I'm not fully rejecting the responseI will accept validity in part of what the business has saidMy husband and I inherited the house that the work was done onWe inherited it from his fatherWe had every intention on paying for servicesThey did not wait weeks before callingThe calls for payment started before services were completedYes I have filed a BK7, this has nothing to do with this businessI emailed them, and told them over the phone that I was in the process of a BKand that they could not by law keep calling to collect paymentI stated in the email which I still haveThat I never denied paymentI said that once the BKwas completed I would contact them to arrange payment optionsThey proceeded to put a lien on a house that is not even mineThey continued to try to tell me I had to pay them despite my BKOnce they became unable to speak with without stating I needed to pay themMy lawyer advised to not speak with them until my BKwas dischargedIt is still not discharged, however there are many issues with their work that needs to be fixedI did not complain about the mess that was left, or any other problems before with them because we were not moved in to the house yet, and had not realized all of the issuesAfter my bankruptcy hearing, I attempted to call the office about these issues and was told they were unable to do anything without paymentThe business has tried to contact me since they responded to this complaintI was unable to answer their callI will be calling them back shortly to discuss what they are willing to doI do want to work this out fair and rightHowever, right now I'm still feeling ripped off, taken advantage of, and bullied by this company
Sincerely,

Here is the email response We sent to [redacted] on Sept 29th 2016. We clarified that we will happily address any issues with outlets not working,  or plumbing issues once we get Paid for the project. We also offered a discounted price on both of the invoices to help her out with paying the balance.  As for the Lien, Yes, we did place a Contractors lien on the PROPERTY that the works was completed on, which is standard practice for larger jobs over $5000.00, which was completed threw the State Construction Register. We will happily remove the lein on the home once the discounted invoices have been paid for the project, and we can sign a conditional lien release document if needed that will insure that it is removed upon completion To start with, this is the first time we have had a situation like this where a bankruptcy is involved, so when we were notified that you were filing, we got a bit defensive because of how much money is involved with this project. as far as quality of work, and warranty issues, Jared and I were not aware of any issues, so if this were a typical customer situation, we should be right back out there to address the issues and do whatever was needed to make things right with you. Our techs rarely get complaints about leaving messes, or anything like that because they know we take that very seriously, and if we have a customer with complaints we will make it right with them in any way possible. As for the negative review, and the complaint with the Revdex.com, I felt like that we did not deserve that bad of a review when you have not given us a chance to address any of the issues you complained about,  and we have spent over $13000 in labor, and materials to complete the projects that you had hired us to do. W try extremely hard to keep all our customers happy, and do everything possible to prevent unhappy customers, and negative reviews, so getting one from you was and is a big deal to us.Moving forward, I would like to work our a agreement with you on the overall invoice for the projects, and setup payment arrangements. I would also like to address the issues you are having in your home and make sure that everything we worked on and invoiced for is completed and working properly.I have reviewed with our general manager, and service manager (Jared) the overall job costing for the project. This is the amount that we have paid in labor and materials needed for bother the plumbing and electrical repairs on the home. This amount does not include business overhead, this is just the cost to complete the project. Our cost came to a little over $13,000 ($13,438)Considering your situation, and the need for both of us to get this paid and move forward, I would be willing to accept $12,000 total for the electrical and plumbing invoices as full payment if paid in a timely manner, without having to hire lawyers to help us collect. If we do have to hire lawyers, and go threw the court proceedings, ect. we will need to collect the full amount plus legal fees because of the lawyer expenses. I think that is a very fair offer for you. We would also address the issues you described with the outlets not working, the plumbing leak, clean up mess, ect.  As far as payment terms, I am not sure what you had in mind, or what you are able to do. the discounted offer is geared towards getting it paid all at once, or close to that, so if we had to spread the payments out over time, we may need to adjust that amount. Please review, and let me know what you think. Lets work together on this and get it addressed with as little headache as possible so we can all move forward.
