Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:It is apparent to me that Mr*** either did
not read or did not fully comprehended my complaint
Mr*** believes that if he thinks his work is
good, then it is good; that if he perceived I was satisfied, then I was
satisfied (despite all the evidence to the contrary)Mr*** is in the
business of making excuses rather than accepting responsibilityThe photos of
his work speak for themselves
A satisfied customer refers to a person who
receives excellent service, fair prices, and respectful treatment; before,
during and after a purchaseAt one point in our discussion I asked him to rate his work on a scale of
A-B-CHe replied, “adequate” (not “meticulous”, as promised during our first
meeting; not “impeccable”, as stated on his website, blackdogstl.com)
Another contractor was paid $to remediate Mr
***’s work, and to finish the job that Mr*** was paid for, but did
not completeI am requesting an appropriate and fair level of reimbursement from
Mr*** to offset some of my costs
Nothing in Mr***’s response to my complaint
changes the fact that the work was inferior, over-priced, and never fully
completedHe continues to refuse to reimburse me for the shoddy work and the
work that he admits was never completedHe is a contractor in name onlyHe
lacks formal training and does not conduct himself in an honest and transparent
manner.
Buyer beware.
Sincerely,
*** ***

Her threats and insults aside, Ms*** never gave me the opportunity to address her concerns or finish the job when I arrived at her residence at 9am on Saturday, January 13, When my attorney asked her to tell him her concerns in his letter of January 17, 2018, she apparently chose not to do so because neither he nor I heard anything further until I received this complaint and now the complaint she filed with the Missouri Attorney General

Good evening, Since submitting my complaint to the Revdex.com, efforts to reach Mr. [redacted], Black Dog Remodeling, have been unsuccessful. You have attempted to contact him twice by email. once on FEB 21 and again on FEB 28. I just realized that Mr. [redacted] has two email addresses (he has one...

posted on his URL website, and another is on his business card). I'm not sure which email address the Revdex.com is using? Perhaps you would consider trying the alternate (listed below)? [redacted].[redacted]@gmail.com  [redacted]@blackdogstl.com Much appreciated, [redacted]

In response to the Revdex.com complaint entered by Ms. [redacted] against me, Ms. [redacted] correctly states that I did not finish the work at her condo in Creve Coeur, MO. However, she failed to mention that I went to her residence at [redacted] at 9am on Saturday, January 13, 2018, as per her schedule. Up until this time, I was under the impression from texts she sent, which can be provided), that she loved the work, and wanted it to be finished up. She let me in with my equipment and the remaining materials needed to finish the job (including flooring transition strips that had been backordered since late December 2017). I had every intention of completing the minor touch ups and her punch list, along with installing the previously backordered transition strips and making adjustments to her closet doors that were scraping along the new flooring that had been installed. At this time, she informed me that she had an building inspector inspect the work and was going to have another contractor come in to finish the job because it was "substandard". She demanded $2,000 from me that she wanted paid in cash that day. I asked for copies of the inspection report and the new contractor’s bid. She informed that she did not have copies of either, and that she would have to "pay for an inspection report".  I stand by my work. There was nothing wrong that could not have been fixed on January 13, 2018, had I been allowed to do it. Because of Ms. [redacted]’s demand for money, I immediately contacted my attorney to have him contact Ms. [redacted] for copies of the inspection report and the new contractor’s bid (see attachment). To date, my attorney has received nothing regarding this matter.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
As I stated in my original letter of complaint and follow-up communication, Mr. [redacted] is unskilled, dishonest and untrustworthy. He did not complete his work on time (first on 12/25/17; then again on 12/27/17); and he did not communicate the delays on either occasion (timelines that he volunteered himself). When I expressed concerns about his work he told me that he was aware of the issues, and to let him finish before we discussed anything. He was dishonest about the availability of materials that he said were needed to complete the job (he claimed material was on back-order; I confirmed with the supplier that his claim was false. It was not on back-order, and in fact the supplier telephoned Mr. [redacted] on 1/3/18 to tell him he could pick it up). The supplier also informed me that the "back-ordered" material was not going to be solve the flooring problem (one of the several issues). After speaking with the supplier I contacted Mr. [redacted] (1/10/18) to schedule a date to complete the work (1/13/18). Feeling overwhelmed by my circumstances (wasn't even sure how to prepare a punch-list with so many unanswered questions), I decided to meet with a professional building inspector the next night (1/11/18). He confirmed that several areas did not pass inspection (many more than I initially realized). After experiencing Mr. [redacted]'s scheduling delays, lack of communication, dishonesty and poor workmanship, I was not comfortable, and I did not believe Mr. [redacted] capable of fixing the problem areas or completing the job (which I explained to him on 1/13/18), and requested partial reimbursement ($2000). To what end does Mr. [redacted]'s lawyer request documentation? Regardless, Mr. [redacted] may provide the documents himself. He is in possession of all with the exception of an inspection report (which would cost an additional $250). Please see my original letter of complaint, addendum/timeline and photographs for details.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
