Black Girls On The Go Reviews (%countItem)

I have travel with this company several times since 2015 and I love the way the brand has progressed. Although there has been confusion with other companies of the same name working with Shay and her team is always a delight.
There itineraries are well thought out and planned. I could not ask for a better group of women and sometimes men to travel with and I look forward to the Dubai Tour in November.

Ms. Reid thanks for your feedback.

Absolutely great organization, the best investment and decision I ever made. The 2017 Paris Experience allowed me the must needed time away from my everyday that I needed. I met women who were absolutely god sent. The owner is passionate about helping more women travel and see the world.

Ms. Jefferson, thanks for your feedback.

I really had to share my amazing experience with Black Girl Travel Movement. I traveled with them to Paris last year. Hesitant to so as I've never traveled solo and was experiencing personal challenges in my life at the time. The founder of BGTM encouraged me to attend and explained why it was the best time to travel given my challenges at that time. They matched me with a roommate (Personality match) and had a great itinerary. I bonded with many of the ladies there and left with a feeling of rejuvenation. I will make it my business to travel with them at least once a year. Money well spent.

Ms. Lewis, thanks for your feedback.

SERVICES NOT AS ADVERTISED.

Black Girls On The Go Response • Mar 15, 2018

Ms. Bradley participated in the Authentically Cuba Tour on 8/31/17 and was provided over 30 services including roundtrip air, five (5) overnight accommodations for five nights, transportation, tours, meals and more for $1695. On her own social media page Ms. Bradley documents the amazing experience she had on the tour provided by Black Girl Travel Movement.
This is one of many frivolous and slanderous allegations Ms. Bradley has made against our business in an effort to discourage other customers from uziliting our services.

This organization is simply Phenomenal! Trips are well planned and executed! Everything that was promised, was delivered and then more. it was more than just a trip, it was an experience. Looking forward to the next adventure!!!

Black Girls On The Go Response • Mar 15, 2018

Thanks for the great feedback and we look forward to seeing you on the next experience.

This organization is one of the best I've seen so far. I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to Canada with this group in spite of the flight delays we had coming in and going out. Shay made sure that my best friend and I were as comfortable as possible as we ventured throughout the weekend, and I can honestly say I made bonds with an amazing group of women that I will never ever forget! I will definitely be attending another trip with this organization as soon as I can!

Thanks for the great feedback and we look forward to seeing you on the next experience.

On August 1, 2017, I purchased a travel package from Black Girl Travel Movement/*** (BGTM/***) for $1729.37. On August 31, 2017 through September 5, 2017, I participated in a group travel experience to Cuba with BGTM/***. The seller advertised the trip to include the following as listed below, however did not fulfill these major parts and features as offered and those facts were not disclosed in the description of the package at the time of purchase. On July 30, 2017, I received an Authentically Cuba Tour Pocket Guide via email which outlined the daily itinerary. Again, on August 31, 2017, the seller issued the exact itinerary to include: Five Star Hotel, Private Salsa Lessons, Jam Session and Discussion with Musicians, Meet with Restaurant Owner to Learn About Operating a Business in Cuba, Learn about Operating a Casa in Cuba, Afro Cuban Jazz, Full Day Catamaran Tour in Varadero, Cave Tour, Listed Tours and Excursions, 3 Day Resort Upgrade, Transportation and Personalized Swag Bag. The hotel was rated a 3.9. Transportation was overcrowded and at other times there was no transportation to accommodate the group. In addition, despite several discussions, checks and balances with the seller, she provided incorrect currency exchange information which caused overpayment for items purchased in Cuba. The seller abandoned the group in Varadero for three days without direction/guidance and a means to communicate with her. The seller was clearly disingenuous and did not fulfill the package as advertised, offered and sold. To date, the seller has only offered a $40 refund as compensation for her failure to deliver the above as advertised.

Black Girls On The Go Response

We are in receipt of complaint from *** dated 9/23/17. We have reviewed our records and confirm that *** participated the Authentically Cuba tour from 8/31/17 to 9/30/17. Before attempting to explain *** less than favorable experience during her tour, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused her. Although customer satisfaction is a top priority and we go above and beyond the minimal we do not guarantee that a client will have a great time.

This is the second request we have received from *** requesting a refund for services that were rendered to her during the tour. *** is requesting a full refund for services that were rendered to her including airline ticket, airport taxes & fee’s, tourist visa, lodging, meals and more. For convenience, we have attached a complete list of services that were rendered to all clients that participated in the above-mentioned tour and including a copy of ***’s invoices. Upon review of both document you will notice that *** was provided a vast list of services beyond those that she was paid.

Our goal is to provide each client with a high-quality travel experience and render all the services that the client purchased. As you will see from the attached invoice *** was provided with all the services that she paid including additional services that we offered to her complimentary. Although Black Girl Travel Movement offers a group itinerary we do not force our clients to participate in any activities that they do not want to participate in. *** decision to not participate in excursions offered during the tour does not entitle her to a refund.

At this time, Black Girl Travel Movement does not have any additional information to provide and cannot authorize *** a refund as she participated in all five days of the tour and received all the services as indicated on her invoice.

Thanks in advance for the opportunity to respond to this complaint.

Black Girls On The Go Response

We are in receipt of *** rejection of our response to her complaint for a full refund for the Authentically Cuba event that she fully participated in on 8/31/17. Attached is a copy of ***'s invoice #*** dated 6/24/17 that outlined all the services that were included with the travel experience that she purchased. For convenience we have included a copy of the 30 services that were rendered to *** during the Authentically Cuba event. Our records show that we received two payments from *** on 7/6/17 for $600 and on 8/1/17 for $1129.37 for invoice #***. As you will note the services that were listed on ***'s invoice were provided to her along with a host of complimentary services that were included at no additional charge.

Additionally, *** references our company Authentically Cuba information pamphlet that provides a summary of all tours we host to Cuba. This guide aides clients with documenting their travel to cuba as required.

Black Girl Travel Movement takes pride in providing our clients with exceptional services and the services rendered to *** were no exception. Unfortunately, because all services were rendered to *** by BGTM and other vendors we are not able to offer her a refund.

Thanks for the opportunity to reply to this complaint.

I participated in a group travel experience to Cuba for labor day. This was supposed to be an authentic tour which included transportation, excursions, lessons and activities. I was emailed an itenarary which was not fulfilled. In total I paid $1695 for visa, travel and trip itenarary. In addition to this we had to tip drivers and other tour services. We also had to exchange money from American to tourist cuban cuc. The host and owner of Black girl travel movement did not deliver the full itenaray to include:learning about operating casa's, private salsa lessons, visit bodega/local market, learning about operating business in cuba, catamaran tour, finale dinner with jazz, exploration ode mantanzas, musequitos jam session, traditional cuban dinner and show and, discussion with music artist among other listed activities.
In addition, we were unable to exchange our money and unable to buy food or purchase items until the second day there. We were charged an additional tax on food at the restaurant where we had dinner for not having Cuban Cuc. This resulted in wasted money and time. The owner had cuc and was able to buy and purchase freely. The owner didn't fulfill and fell short in providing customer service as she also started division between the tour participants. The owner left us at the resort in Varadero with no way of communicating with her. Herself, and family (a group of 4) took excursions without the rest of us and stayed in beachfront sweets . We were left with poor to no dining options and struggled with hunger. The owner and her group had fine dining options and premium bar and were designated "premium guests". The rest of our group had to deal with basic dining options, hard beds and walking a distance to get to the beach and activities. We also had transportation issues as the owner, Sharon did not provide proper bus transport.
The owner was very unproffesional and rude. Upon return and complaining to *** for refund, the host only offered $40 to compensate this poor experience.

To Whom It May Concern:

From August 31st to September 5th, I participated in and paid for the Authentically Cuba Travel Experience offered by Black Girl Travel Movement/ ***. I paid $1679.00 in good faith that the advertised services, excursions and people to people interaction would be provided as those were the features highlighted as included during this tour. However, to my disappointment services were not rendered as listed on the invoice/brochures and documents. Lodging and transportation were provided but the below stated and expected events from the owner's site were not:
- Private Salsa Lesson
- Cuban Cocktails Demonstrations
- Hemingway Home Visit
- Private Artist Workshops
- Studios and Gallery Visit
- Afro-Cuban Community Visit
- Close Encounters with Nature Areas
- Black Girl Travel Movement SWAG Bag: All our group trips include a
personalized Swag Bag curated specifically for BGTM
- Full Day Catamaran Tour of Varadero
- No Excursions were included or mentioned as an option
- Discussion with Musician and Artist (was to happen on 2 different
days)
- During your visit you immerse yourself into the Cuban culture by
interacting and engaging with the people of Cuba including artists,
farmers, health-care professionals, children and other locals.
- Visit to Las Cuevas de Bellamar
- Traditional Cuban Dinner and Show
- Five Star Resort
- San Severino
- Mantanzas Slave Route
- Musequitos de Matanzas jam session
- Meet with Restaurant Owners to Learn about Operating Business in
Cuba
- Panoramic Tour of Varadero
- Varadero Natural Wonder
- Finale Dinner and Jazz
Again the above is from her site which we paid to experience.
NONE of the above was offered or even an alternative to any of the above. This is my first time reaching out to the Revdex.com, and I hope it is my last. I do not know if Ms. L operates all of her tours or her business in a "bait and switch" fashion but I am seeking your assistance as the tour operator has not been helpful with remediation efforts.

We are in receipt of ***'s rejection of our response to her complaint requesting a full refund for services that were rendered to her.

In addition to the previous documentation provide we offer you a true an accurate copy of the Autobiography History of invoice #*** from our accounting records.

A copy of invoice #*** was previously submitted to you that clearly outlined the complete list of services to be rendered to ***.

***'s invoice was created on 10 Jun 2017, 11:26am and forwarded to her by email shortly thereafter.

On 11 Jun 2017, 6:25pm an update was made to the invoice which was prior to any payments being made by ***.

As you can see for the Autobiography History no changes were made to ***'s invoice

On 14 Jun 2017, 8;59am we received full payment for ***.

These documents are being provided to demonstrate the integrity of our business practices.

We stand by our original decision that because *** participated in the full tour from 31 Aug 2017 to 5 Sep 2017 she is not eligible for a full refund.

At this time we consider this matter resolved.

Customer Response • Jan 10, 2018

I am continuing to reject the owner's view of services rendered because what was advertised and delivered were grossly different. Services paid for were not rendered and Ms. L did not meet / provide was she stated in her brochures, ads and online sites.

I reject the view that services should not be paid in full. They should be paid in full.

I participated in a *** trip with Black Girl Travel Movement/ Sisterfriends on the Go from August 31, 2017 to September 5, 2017. I paid a total of $2,379.00 for the trip to *** with Black Girl Travel Movement. I am filing a complaint to dispute the services that were not provided and the services that were actually provided were nowhere near worth a value of $2,379.00. The only services provided in the Authentically *** trip were for lodging and car services. Black Girl Travel Movement/ Sisterfriends on the Go is a fraudulent company. The owner of Black Girl Travel Movement/ Sisterfriends on the Go is Shay S and she presented the old switch and bait scam. She presented items on my invoice and itinerary that were not delivered during the trip. For example the invoice states that the services will include a Catamaran tour in ***, listed tours and excursions, salsa lessons, jam session and discussions with musicians, Afro-***n Jazz. None of these things were provided during the trip. In addition, it was promised in writing that the beach resort in *** would be a 5-star hotel. The Hotel *** was not a 5-star hotel. It's only rated as 3.9. The seller advertised that payees would receive a personalized SWAG bag. I never received a SWAG bag. The money paid to Black Girl Travel Movement is not accounted for and I am seeking a refund. I have reached out to the owner through email several times asking for a detailed invoice, which has yet to be delivered. In addition, I filed a dispute with *** and *** agreed that the seller delivered services that were listed on her website, my invoice, and the pamphlet provided the day of departure from ***. My question remains- where are the receipts and evidence that shows the seller provided these services? I was on the trip and I know that the seller did not provide these services that she has falsely advertised.

Black Girls On The Go Response

We are in receipt of complaint *** from Ms. *** dated 9/19/17. We have reviewed our records and confirm that Ms. participated the Authentically *** tour from 8/31/17 to 9/30/17. Before attempting to explain Ms. less than favorable experience during her tour, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused her.
This is the second request we have received from Ms. requesting a refund for services that were rendered to her during the tour. Her previous complaint requested a full refund for services that were rendered to her including airline ticket, airport taxes & fee’s, tourist visa, lodging, meals and more. For convenience, we have attached a complete list of services that were rendered to all clients that participated in the above-mentioned tour.
Ms.’s most recent complaint alleges that the only services that were provided to her during the tour were “lodging and car services”, this is not accurate. We have photographs and written affidavits from other clients that participate in the same tour as Ms. who have confirmed that all said services were provided. I would like to point out that Ms. chose not to participate in activities that she alleges that were not provided to her.
With regards to the Catamaran Tour in *** on 8/24/17, our records show that Ms. was advised that this tour was an optional excursion and would be an out of pocket expense. After evaluating our practices, we realize that a verbal notification, one week before the departure was not the best way to handle this situation. This is clearly a mistake from our side and we take full responsibility for it. Any notification of change or corrections should have been sent to Ms. in writing. This is clearly a mistake from our side and we take full responsibility for it.
In our 9/17/17 letter to Ms. we offered her a $40 refund for the Catamaran Tour. To date we have not received a response from Ms. and we pray that she accepts our apology and remain a client with us.

Customer Response

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:
The seller has not been truthful throughout this whole process. Not only did the seller not provide the Catamaran, she also did not provide the following:
5 star hotel in ***Hemingway HomePrivate Salsa Lesson ***n Cocktails DemonstrationsPrivate Artist WorkshopsClose Encounters with Nature AreasFinale Dinner and JazzDiscussion with Musician and ArtistVisit *** Traditional *** Dinner and ShowBGTM SWAG Bag

Also, the seller states that she has photos and affidavits from other clients that participated in these "said" activities. These other clients are friends and a relative to the seller. If the seller provides receipts of these activities, check to see how many people she paid for on these activities in question because I'm betting that the receipts will be for 4 people (seller, seller's friend, seller's cousin, and cousin's boyfriend). Please verify these so called receipts because I have yet to receive any copies of receipts and I have asked for a detailed invoice three times.
Regards

Black Girls On The Go Response • Jan 04, 2018

We acknowledge receipt of Ms. rejection of our resolution and have provided numerous documentation that substantiate our decisions. Ms. acknowledges that she participate in the tour and we have provide sufficient document to substantiate that claim. Unfortunately, we do not offer a warranty that allows Ms. to receive a refund if she is not happy with the tour. Our goal is to provide all clients with the services that they paid for and this was done in Ms. case.

Based on the above we consider this matter resolved.
