Not a great first time experienceA shade away from Awful, in fact Perhaps I lost my chance at quality service when I was late for my appointment? (That is rude, and I apologized profusely that my taxi service never showed up, it was raining, and I was ultimately minutes late for my appointment.) Perhaps it was because I had asked to see another stylist (a referral from my friend who got a cute haircut from Kat) and was sent to this person instead? Perhaps I look like someone she knows? Perhaps my bad experience can be blamed on all these things...I don't know? Not a great first time experience. A shade away from Awful, in fact.

Perhaps I lost my chance at quality service when I was late for my appointment? (That is rude, and I apologized profusely that my taxi service never showed up, it was raining, and I was ultimately 15 minutes late for my appointment.)

I do know this: it all summed up to being unprofessional. I was insulted by the stylist from the get-go of the appointment. She even went so far as to say that my previous stylist must have hated me because she gave me a "crappy, Hollywood bo-ho hair color". This stylist didn't listen to my needs, cutting my hair with thinning shears (which cause split ends on me) and taking off WAY more than I had asked for. I wanted sexy, hippy-chic waves w/ layers...I got a choppy deconstructed mullet that was 3 inches shorter than it was supposed to be.

Additionally, she turned me away from the mirror, so I couldn't stop her from taking off so much hair and complained that my hair-color was ruining her masterpiece of a haircut. This stylist did what SHE wanted, and I left the salon feeling pretty awful- insulted, with an ugly haircut and a gawd-awful blowout. Even though, I was near tears from the site of my hair in the mirror when she was done, I did tip her 20% because I am certainly not as rude as she was to me, and I did take up her time being late.

I'm two weeks into the cut, and I will admit that it slightly looks better than when I left the salon. Additionally, my friend (as I mentioned above) got a good haircut from Kat, 1 star. However, those are the only two positive comments I can give for this place. I will not be giving BHHH anymore of my money, and I feel embarrassed for them for having a stylist like this on staff...Oh, wait....she's not only the stylist, she owns the salon. Classy.

Bottom line- Superficially cool (cute decor), but no care. While there my be some talented people working there, the owner's lack of professionalism during my visit has put Black Heart's on my D-list.
