Black Tie Caterers, L.L.C.

I verbally terminated the catering contract, signed and dated December 15, 2012, with Black Tie Caterers as of Friday, April 26, 2013. Termination of the contract was deemed necessary because, despite having three-scheduled tastings/food pick-ups with Black Tie Caterers, I never had an opportunity to sample of all of the items on my wedding menu. I was also unsatisfied with many of the items that I had tasted. As a result, I made the decision to terminate the contact with Black Tie Caterers due to my concern that Black Tie Caterers was incapable of delivering the catering services for which I had contracted.Two payments have been made to Black Tie Caterers. The first payment of $2,000 was made on 12/15/12. The second payment of $1,000 was made on 1/17/13. Under the written contract, Black Tie Caterers is only entitled to retain the security deposit, which is 25% of the amount of the total contract. To date - Black Tie Caterers has refused to refund me the remaining balance, $1,437.60.
