The toilet overflowed in the bathroom. We turned off water and put down towels. They charged my credit card a cleaning fee and never notified me.My 4 year old went to the bathroom (urinating) and toilet overflowed when he flushed. My wife and I were in the room and heard him and within seconds turned the intake valve to the toilet off to stop more water from going out. We also put down all the towels we had in the two bathrooms. The caulking on the bathroom tub had gaping holes. This was a very small bathroom. I guess some of the water creeped through the holes and into the room below. A portion of the water in the bathroom also reached the carpet in our room. Unbeknownst to me, the lodge charged my credit card an exorbitant cleaning fee after we checked out. They didn't even notify me. First, I do not feel our actions were negligent. Toilets overflow. We did everything we could do. If water leaked into the room below, it was because they did not have proper caulking on the tub. If water reached the carpet in our room, it was because there was no raised divider on the floor. Perhaps they should get better plumbing.I want the charge removed from my credit card. When I found out they charged me I called and spoke to a woman on duty. She told me she would have a manager call me.
