Blackwater Fitness Club

I am responding to as per your request to the complaint filed against our business with the assigned ID of ? [redacted] .According to your letter the complaint involves ADVERTISING ISSUESThe Blackwater Fitness Club didn't advertise anythingWe were contacted by the [redacted] Scholarship race committee requesting a donation for the fund raiser, to which our response was a Gift Basket that contained the following A six month membership, Club shirt, water? bottle, wrist sweat bands, and an armband used to hold an [redacted] or mobile phonePerhaps the Race Committee had an advertisement using our name, if so we were never given the opportunity to approve the advertisement and to this point were unaware it existedWe were told the Club's name would be listed as a sponsor/supporter in the literatureRegarding the telephone call- I questioned her as to who she spoke with, she didn't rememberWhen asked if the staff member was male or female she couldn't rememberAs I questioned my staff regarding the call not a single one could remember a call of that natureWe are a small gym and my staff consists of two female and three males, they leave me notes after each shift regarding tours given, any phone calls that need to be returned, and any unusual membership requestsIf she called I believe it would have been brought to my attention, the reason being the "winner" was the topic of conversation on several occasions due to the fact they never came forward to take advantage of the membershipEven if she did call what she stated in the letter is correct it would be no problem for her to Join at that pointHowever the certificate states EXPIRES by 12-31-so she would have had use of the Club from 12-2-until the end of the year which she choose not to doIn the complaint she states "a Free? month membership which EXPIRES by 12/31/2015" which is entirely accurateHowever it specifically states expires, not to be initiated by 12/31/The initial Gift Certificate stated "Valid 6-15-thru 12-31-2015" "To be used by 12-31-2015" which is actually six and one half monthsI am the only person to issue Gift Certificates and all valid certificates have my initialsShould you need any more information or have questions regarding this matter please contact me at your earliest convenienceBest regards, James GManager

I want to try a gym out and if I liked it my intension was to learn more and possibly continuing and bring other family members in.
