My year old parents were down sizing, and to help out I was taking a Uhaul of furniture to Williams Lake I called Blakes to inquire about hiring help to move the furniture into our house and to remove furniture out of our house The receptionist told me to call a few days ahead of the time we need the help to see if there was any availability I told her I wanted to set this up in advance She responded that Blakes could not book moving help, because they were only willing to do the whole job of coming down to Vancouver to move the stuff in their own truck They were not willing to help us if we were using a Uhaul I can understand them wanting to use their own truck in Williams Lake If I was in Williams Lake, I would book their truck However, seeing as we could arrive in Williams Lake with a Uhaul truck, and we could stop in front of Blakes and have them transfer everything into their truck, and have them move the stuff into our house, I do not see the difference between having them do that or having them meet us at our house to unload the stuff We would be paying the same amount to hire them, and they would not have to use their truck Because we are choosing to bring our stuff up in a Uhaul, we are being discriminated againstFurthermore, it should be known that because Blakes has forced us into finding an alternate source of help, I have contacted the local employment office to seek moving help through them Blakes is the only moving company in Williams Lake, and they know there stuff That is not indisputeIt is simply that they should not feel so threatend by the use of Uhaul that they refuse to be available for hire This appears to me to be the case, and that is disappointing This is not the first time I have had dealings with trying to book Blakes for moving things They are very difficult to pin down

The actual move went very smoothlyIt was snowing/raining and the two movers laid down rugs throughout the house to keep the floors and carpets cleanThey came well equipped with boxes of floor mats! The movers also used one dolly outside and one inside to keep the dirt out (thanks!)All my stuff arrived safe and sound (I did the packing myself)The move went must faster than I thoughtThank youWould recommend!

The experience from the initial communication with Blake's Moving and Storage, was very positive, professional and a the price excellent in price range for the distance. The move went seamlessly from pick up to delivery. Clear communication. Just to mention, I observed the care and attention to detail with loading and unloading was superior to other movers I have hired in the past. They are serious about their business, customer service, and your belongings! Highly recommended.

Their friendly and quick service alleviated my stress of trying to organize this on my own. I strongly recommend using them for all your moving needs.

Blames Moving provided an accurate quote and a stress free move for my family who moved from [redacted] to Kelowna. Shelly was great to deal with and prompt to answer questions and make changes as requested. I would recommend them. Their pre move checklist for determining a quote was excellent also.
First, Shelly was a nightmare to deal with. She's a very rude and catty person, and then blamed her behaviour on PMS. How is that professional? It's not! To boot, the drivers/movers were equally unprofessional. While moving out of my apartment one of the guys had one of his buddies come over and he was just wandering around my place. The driver swore to Shelly that he wasn't aware this happened even though I witnessed the other mover introducing his friend to the driver. On top of that, the movers stacked really heavy things on top of particle board furniture. They used their disclaimer as a way to dismiss their negligence. They also lost a shelf from my bookshelf. I'd never recommend them to anyone again. They're also not nearly as flexible with times, etc. as they lead you to believe. Very frustrating move.

This was the most pleasant experience I've ever had in a move, they were on time, courteous and made the move stress free. I would recommend Blake's moving & Storage to anyone making a long distance move. And there booking agent [redacted] was incredibly helpful throughout the whole experience. Just great people all around.
