Unfortunately for the *** and The Windowbroker, the mfgof the windows, Gorell Windows & Doors is out of businessThere is no warranty because they have gone out of businessThe Windowbroker cannot and will not be able to refund or pay for replacement glass on the faulty windowsThe
Windowbroker has received a discounted price on new glass from their new manufacturer and is passing their cost only onto the ***Also the Windowbroker is not charging the *** labor to come and replace the faulty glassUnfortunately that is the best the Windowbroker can doWe are very sorry this has happened but it was not The Windowbrokers fault and we are spending money in labor to try and soften the expense of our customersWe also hired a lawyer to make sure the Attorney General in NY and PA were aware of the situation Gorell had the right to close their doorsThe Windowbroker has also gone to court with a customer whom felt The Windowbroker should pay for the repairs and the court ruled in favor of The Windowbroker because the responsibility was Gorells

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Window Broker never mentioned this t be the case with our boardsThey did all the work and should have said that when the work was doneAlso when we bought the windows we were told they were warranted for life and that warranty could even be transferred on change of home ownership. The leak is not happening at the top of the bay window but at the bottom, which they would have known if they ever returned my callAlso we tried to resolve the issue by having them quote the work to replace the boards where they initially covered them and never received an estimate after they had come and taken measurements after repeated calls. They seem to say all the right words when you are looking to make the initial purchase to get you to purchase and then once you do they do not stand by their work or provide good customer service. I want other people to know up front about their lack of customer service and response time before they have the same problem we do. Regards, *** ***

Dear sir, yes the *** purchased windows from the Window Broker and have four seal failuresThe company Gorell Windows and Doors was the manufacturer and was responsible for the manufactured productThey are now out of business which means there is no warranty on the windowsThe Window
Broker is not responsible for the cost of new glass to repair the windowWe only have a labor warrantyWe were not and are not manufacturersOur existing supplier, Soft-lite Windows and Doors is giving the Window Broker glass at a discounted price in order to help the Window Broker and Gorell Window and Door customersWe are also repairing the windows for the customers who purchase the new glass at COST from Soft-lite at NO labor chargeEnclosed find the contract which states the warranties as well as a documented ruling from Judge *** in reference to the Window Broker's liability in these casesWe would be more than happy to repair the glass at no charge if and when the Schofield's decide to purchase the glass

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
Regards,
*** *** Window Brokers original offer to us was for a discount, but they did not say "at their cost only" In this reply the offer does state thatThank you for your response

Mrs*** was called today and a message was left for her to call the office and relay which four windows are defective in order to get a cost quote on themWe will request a quote from Soft-lite and then relay the amount on to the Schofield'sThis will take more than hoursIt will depend on our return e-mail from Soft-liteIf I am here at the time of MrsSchofield's call I will speak directly to herIf not Jessica, my service consultant will be here to help herThank you Colleen J***

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me I have spoken with the owner, who is sending someone out to look at our windows and hopefully provide a quote soon afterI am cautiously optimistic that these steps will lead to a satisfactory resolution. Regards, *** ***

The issue the *** have is a result of their existing faulty, deteriorating wood siding The warranty on their window is Limited Lifetime which is prorated after yrs and does not cover leakage from the rotted wood above the windowIf the *** had someone address the rotted wood they
should have in fact sealed the top of the window after replacing the rotted wood and if done correctly (flashed) their window should not leak in the future from aboveWe did in fact go out free of charge even though there should have been a chargeWe are overbooked for and expressed that to Mrs.*** when she calledThe window is not the problem it is their (was) the rotted siding We again in April of at no charge re-caulked the top of the window and let the *** know of the siding issue at that point

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below We were told this by a secretary upon first calling and asked what the cost would be for the glassWe were told someone would get back to us within a hour period, however we never heard from anyoneMy issue is with the way this has been handled from the beginning, with no respect shown to customers who have spent thousands at this businessIn order to fully resolve this problem, I would like to speak directly with someone from the company This business constantly advertises "customer satisfaction" as their number one goalThe owner even did a recent interview about always wanting to resolve any issues a customer is havingTheir knowledge and disregard of our complaints is proof that they do not put words into action Regards, *** ***

September 22,2015Re: Consumer: *Our Client: The Window BrokerComplaint ID.: [redacted]Our File No.: [redacted]Dear Sir or Madam:We represent the Window Broker, Inc. and have been asked to respond to [redacted] complaint. The Window Broker, Inc. is located at 735 Main Street, Johnson City,...

NY13790. Colleen J is the President. The Window Broker, Inc. has been in business for over 30 years.The best response to [redacted] complaint is the letter dated August 5, 2015 that I sent to the [redacted].  I attach a copy of my letter dated August 5, 2015. As you can see from theletter and a review of the contract, the roof work was only one aspect of the overall contract. Furthermore, as I understand it, [redacted] was on the Board of the HomeownersAssociation and certainly had to know about the uniformity requirements for shingles. It must be kept in mind that the [redacted]' roof is attached to a neighbor's roof, so uniformity of shingles is animportant criteria. As the Homeowners Association pointed out to the [redacted], there are perfectly acceptable shingles that can be used. Even if the particular type of shingle that the [redacted] wantis not acceptable to a Homeowners Association, it makes no sense that the [redacted], as homeowners, who need roof work, simply change their mind and say they do not want to do theroof work. It is also illogical that the other major work under the Window Broker contract would not occur, but there is no reference to that other work in the complaint with your office. I suspectthere is more to this than is referenced in the Loudon complaint. What makes more sense is that the [redacted] have had discussions with another contractor who claims they can beat the WindowBroker's prices. Of course, if that is what has occurred then that is not a basis for termination of a valid existing contract. In terms of an offer of compromise, the Window Broker, Inc. would be willing to offer to two options. One, receive a payment of $2200.00 for the time and effort to measure, price costing, estimating, and pre construction administration and release the balance of $2800.00 to the [redacted]. Two, hold the pricing of the contract for three (3) years with a materials only priceadjustment (increase or decrease) at the time the Loundons decide to proceed with all of the work referenced in their valid binding contract. Please contact me with any questions or other issues on this matter. Thank you.Very truly yours,Alan  PAJP/rnlfEnclosureALAN J.

A representative from The Window Broker went out in August to get the glass size for the window with the seal failure. At that time the rep noticed the frame around the glass was coming apart. We checked with the manufacturer who advised us the glass is replaceable but the frame around the glass is...

no longer available as it has been over 15 years. We left a message for the [redacted]'s in August to let them know what we found out. We did not hear back from the [redacted]'s at that time. However, we are still able to change the glass to repair the seal failure. We would not be able to fix the [redacted] Frame. We are waiting on a quote from the manufacturer as to how much the glass would be. We have called the [redacted]'s to make them aware but have not received a returned phone call. As soon as we receive the quote for the glass, we will make the [redacted]'s aware of the cost.
