I recently applied and was approved for the Uber Visa card through Barclays (I triple checked it was actually Barclays and not a scammer)They requested I mail them front and back copy of my license, front and back copy of a utility bill for my current address, and front and back copy of my SOCIAL SECURITY CARDThey said it was to verify my identityI explained to them I am not comfortable with mailing my social security numberI asked them if I could potentially redact the first digits and they said no, it had to be all digitsThey did not seem to understand the danger of doing this in regards to identity theft and fraudAfter speaking with multiple customer service reps they said they could not give me the card unless I mailed them the information in days or less
I received an in mail promo which I went online to check my actual rateI entered the amount I needed, checked the rate, all came back good, so I proceeded with the offerKeep in mind, just checking the rate did not hurt my credit score, but proceeding once I thought I was going forward with what I asked for didOnce I get into the account information, they send me "their offer" for almost HALF of what I needed! Keep in mind as well, I have an excellent credit scoreI just wanted to consolidate some debt and make a major home renoI called them to see what the deal was, and they took me through this entire process of basically giving them my life story, only for them to offer me a new offer of just a few thousand moreStill not what I neededVery misleading, sketchy, and now I have a hard pull on my credit report and a waste of my time
I spoke with a Barclays representative on March,***, at 2:PM EST at phone number ###-###-####, and asked whether or not Barclays was still honoring 0% interest and no annual fees on their Barclays (MC) Luxury Gold card for active duty military membersThe card is well known within the active duty community due to its astounding benefits for servicemembersI had heard rumors that the deal was over, but decided to call to Barclays directly to verify thisWhen I spoke to the Barclays representative on March ***, I explained that I was active duty military and that I was interested in the Gold card, but only if the deal was still going onI explained that I was told that the 0% interest and no annual fees had been discontinuedShe proceeded to tell me that the deal was, in fact, not over and furthermore that I should apply and if I was approved I should call back and start the process to submit my military orders and apply the 0% interest and no annual fee to my accountExcit
Recently lost job, am making small regular payments each month but the collection agency is harassing me all hours of the day and night-recently reaching up to times in one dayI am aware that I am behind on my payments, but I am doing everything in my power about it, making regular payments (just not in sufficient amounts, according to them) and their constant harassment does nothing to help the situationI would like to put an end to these harassing calls
