Complaint Category: Failure to honor promised refunds, exchanges, or creditComplaint: Stratus has failed to fulfill the promise of generating $1000.00/month/$12000.00 per year for the cleaning accounts. They are supposed to refund my money after 120 days.I signed a contract with Stratus in May, 2012 with a promise to generate $1,000/month in return. I gave Stratus $4800 up front and they have not been able to provide the accounts to fulfill the agreement. I also was required to purchase $750.00 worth of cleaning supplies/jumbo trash cans/cleaning solutions/buckets/mops etc. They now have only provided 1 account for $150.00 from April until present. Not only do I not receive that monthly check on time, which I offered to wait an additional 15 (from the 1st to the 15 of the month),that I still do not receive my check, I have tried to contact Stratus on multiple occasions and they will not return my calls. If Stratus has not fulfilled their agreement after 120 working days, they have to give you a refund. I called numerous times and sent text messages and have had meetings with [redacted] the owmer, to discuss this issue and left several messages with no response. He also told me that the franchise agreement was only for 1 year...I have the contract and it is for 12 years. I would like a full refund of $4800 + $750...since I have no accounts, I have no use for the supplies now. He has been telling me for months that there is "paper on the streets" meaning they have been soliciting accounts, but I have not received any. While the franchise agreement is renewable for 4 12 year segments, the franchise agreement states that Stratus guarantees the accounts for only 1 year. Stratus has provided gross revenues of $35,174.44, well above the requirement of $12,000 as stated in the franchise agreement and by client in the complaint. Stratus feels like we have met our obligation to the client.
