Bliss Pest Protection Services Reviews (4)

Review: I contracted with Bliss several years ago for termite control. They did a great job with the initial installation. My annual contract period is from June 1 - May 31. June 2011 to May 2012 - no one showed up for the annual inspection - after numerous phone calls and emails, they showed up with no appointment and gave me a credit for the previous year. Then again June 2015 to May 2015 contract period, again no one shows up. I have them a certified latter with all the documentation back in June with no response as well as numerous calls and was told that [redacted] will call back. I even left him a message with no response. I am even getting invoices for the June 2015 period with finance charges since I have not paid.Desired Settlement: I want a refund of $551.64 which was for the Jun 2014 to May 2015 contract period and cancellation of the service with Bliss.

Response:

Received a voicemail from Mr. and returned his call yesterday as this was the first communication I personally received. I informed Mr. via voicemail that I apologize for the confusion and poor service and will issue a refund ASAP. I left my contact information for him to return my call.

Sincerely,

Review: I had engaged this pest service in 2014. I discontinued the service after several service failures and after the company was bought by another company. The pest removal/extermination service was damaging to our property and rather than extermination, we ended up with more rodents in attic and basement - as this company and their service workers put bait inside the attic and basement. More rodents were attracted. They stuffed cardboard into areas along foundation where entry was pointed to and thought this was a pest prevention strategy - obviously it all failed.

They were asked to exterminate bees from property and all they did was cause them to swarm and attack landscaper rather than exterminate. I called numerous times. they refused to have the owner call us. Calls were made to the Billing office and the Connecticut office but all they continue to do is send Invoices and late fees/finance charges. they have ignored requests to cancel and discontinue contacting us. an employee called my personal cell # just last week from White plains to schedule a service call. they will soon be sued for harassment.Desired Settlement: they should eliminate all charges and fees and send us a final resolution in the mail and then have no further contact to this residence or phone #. This company should be reported to NYS for unsafe extermination practices.

Response:

We apologize to Ms. [redacted] as there definitely was a service and/or communication failure on our part. I have spoken with the District Manager of the servicing office, John R[redacted] whom is included via email on this response, and he assured me that all balances will be cleared and a letter will be sent to Ms. [redacted] as she requested.

Review: We recently contacted Bliss Pest Protection Services and scheduled a inspection at our home for possible bed bug problem. They suggested the canine and handler were the most accurate way to detect the presence of bed bugs in the home. The handler and dog arrived on October 8 to inspect our home. The handler and dog went from room to room and the dog sniffed where the handler indicated and would sit and put a paw up if it detected the scent of bed bugs. The dog received a treat each time it detected bed bugs, this went on in each room of the house. When finished the handler said the company would contact us with a treatment plan. The next day a Bliss representative contacted me and set up a time to come by. I thought he would inspect the areas that were indicated by the canine and handler as bed bug infested, but he did no inspection and proceeded to tell me it would cost 3,500 dollars to do a heat treatment in our home. I told him I could not afford such an expensive treatment. He said they could knock off $500.00 if that would help. I decided to get a second opinion, and contacted [redacted]. They came out the next day and inspected the areas indicated by the canine inspection and found no evidence of bed bugs.Desired Settlement: I received a bill for $425.40 for the inspection. I believe the inspection to have been bogus and do not feel we should have to pay for something that clearly is not true.

Sincerely,

Review: Bliss Pest Services contracted a canine to survey my property and back unit for bed bugs. The dog handler entered an invoice on an [redacted] and did not provide me with a paper copy. I paid that day with a credit card. [redacted] from Bliss called me after the dog handler alerted him and asked me to set up an appt. with them to treat my condo and the back condo for $3,400.00 per room. I called that day and asked for more information on the invoice due to my condo association and health dept. asking for more detail other than," alerts in master bedroom, back apt. infested all over." This information was needed in order to get the owner in the back apt. to exterminate her unit as well. My condo assoc. as well as the health dept. wanted details about what was infested and what was condition of condo. I called Bliss and the Dog handler [redacted] who told me he was busy and would get to it that weekend. I emailed and never got a response. I phoned Bliss's [redacted] who stated,"I can't recall that you phoned me then said "oh I phoned [redacted] the dog handler and asked him to phone you." The dog handler and Bliss never got back to me after numerous calls. In addition the dog and handler are not listed as certified in the [redacted] site for accreditation in either CT,NY, or NJ & NJ is supposedly where [redacted] and dog [redacted] are from. The dog sniffed my whole house and sniffed my bedroom & appeared to find nothing until he was given a treat by the handler "[redacted]." The dog did not even enter unit #** in the back since the handler said," I don't want my dog in here." He stated that the bed bugs were visible everywhere.Desired Settlement: I am requesting a refund for these people wasting my time and misrepresenting what is stated in their advertising which says,"full written reports, pamphlets, information and service tailored to your needs." I did not receive a written report but rather was misled, information was misrepresented, and it appears that the dog is not certified.
