BLK Solutions Inc. Reviews (2)

I needed someone to help me renovate my beach house after the summer season. BLK finished two weeks ahead of schedule which allowed me to utilize the house quicken than I had expected. They did drywall installation, fixture replacement, tile in the bathroom, laminate in the living room, painted the kitchen cabinets, and installed new windows. Highly recommend them to anyone.

I hired this company to remove my popcorn ceilings and repair my shed. They didn't provide the services I was expecting. The popcorn isn't fully removed from the ceilings when I contacted them about this they were going to charge me even more to fully remove them. After they had painted my ceilings I noticed that there were damages to the dry wall. They weren't going to fix this until I pointed it out even though I payed them for. I contacted them to have a supervisor to come out and look at everything I was having problems with and they refused to do so. I keep noticing their mistakes. They have paint all over my floors, walls, and light fixtures. I'm completely unhappy with the he services they have provided and didn't even give me the results I thought I hired and payed for them to do.Product_Or_Service: Popcorn ceiling removal and shed repairDesired SettlementI would like a full refund of the $1451.69 I payed them.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted] PresidentContact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXXContact Email: [redacted]@aol.comThis complaint comes to our attention and we would like to discuss the situation. I wAnt it to be known that the client did NOT have her husband's permission to complete these repairs and I have that in writing from her. The client contracted my company and paid a deposit to do the following services.-Remove the popcorn ceiling and repair the drywall as necessary from the popcorn removal.-Repaint the ceiling-Remove the door from the shed and replace the rotting 1 piece of wood that was visible-The owner advised us that she would move her belongings so they could paint and she would take care of covering whatever was left in the room. This service was not supposed to be supplied by BLK SOLUTIONS as we charge a fee for moving/covering furniture. The client paid our 75% deposit and we scheduled her service for 02/29/16. The foreman and his laborer went to her property on the 29th and started to remove her popcorn ceiling & paint, she advised me when they were finished that day that "everything looked great". ( I have this in her text messages) The foreman and his laborer went around the ceiling spackling any areas they saw that were damaged by them removing the popcorn. There were a few areas that were left unscraped or not repaired due to the size of the scrapers on site (too large to fit in that area) and they needed a larger ladder to reach her vaulted ceiling in the living room in the middle, (14' +) These issues were reported to my office at the close of business that day and added for them to be completed when they finished the ticket the next day. The foreman and his laborer went ahead and painted 2 coats of paint on the entire ceiling after the popcorn was removed using a roller and 1 coat of paint on the entire ceiling using a trimming brush. Her shed door was removed so the foreman could measure the wood that needed to be replaced and he noticed live insects and eggs, so he phoned my office immediately. I advised the client to have my foreman remove the further damaged wood so the "bug" man can come and have direct contact with the insects for spraying and removing the damaged wood would allow the shed to dry out for repair. The bug man was at her property within 2 to 3 hours to complete this task and informed us that they were carpenter ants instead of termites. (I can get this in writing from Mays Exterminators)My foreman and his laborer were only scheduled the 2nd day to repair 1 piece of wood at the shed, repair the few areas that were missed at the spackling of the ceiling, and 1 coat around the entire ceiling with trimming brushes. These tasks would have taken 2-3 hours to complete. Since we ran into trouble with the shed, this took all the time that was scheduled for her on the 2nd day so we moved her completion of the project to the following morning. The client was concerned on the morning of the 2nd day because her ceiling did NOT look like her bathroom. Her bathroom ceiling was previously repaired by another company/person and they had removed the popcorn ceiling, sanded the ceiling, and repainted the ceiling. My foreman educated her that the invoice for her project did NOT indicate the ceiling to be sanded. The foreman called me from the client's cell phone and asked for an estimate to sand her ceilings and repaint them again.I was able to discount her for the ceiling to be sanded. I was able to discount her for the 25% balance due from her initial invoice. She was not happy with the estimated costs to sand the ceiling. I advised her to sand her entire ceiling would take 4-6 hours per room depending on the size. Sanding the entire ceiling would also create a LARGE mess due to the dust. She asked me to remove the clean up from her estimate to make it cheaper, but was still not satisfied. She said she wanted to just complete the ticket as it was laid out and to have this work done today 03/04/16. She contacted my office yesterday to ask for a refund stating that the drywall wasnt repaired in the few areas and that there was a few places with popcorn and that her ceiling wasn't smooth. I advised her that 95% of her ticket was completed and they would finish today 3/4. The client asked me to come and look at the ceiling to see what I thought, I advised her that my 2 work trucks are in the shop ( I can provide proof) and the foreman was using my personal vehicle to do work and I would not be able to meet with her until one of my work trucks were returned. I contacted her yesterday 3/3 and let her know that one of my trucks would be out of the shop after 9am today and I will come and meet with her. Then I get on the computer and see this complaint. We are a 5 Star company that was voted the best contracting company in 2015 via thumbtack.com. We have over 50 reviews from our customers that we have done work for. We always aim to please and this client isn't letting us finish the work that was described in her invoice. I can send this to you as proof sanding was not apart of her project. We are willing to refund her 95% of the 25% balance due since we are not being allowed to complete the ticket, but we completed 95% of her work that she described she wanted done. The client was at the property the entire time seeing what the workers were doing. If she noticed the ceiling wasn't how she wanted it, she did not speak up before they started painting the ceiling. My foreman would have stopped right then and there if she was not happy. My thoughts are, she is in trouble for spending this money, she is in trouble because her ceiling isn't like the bathroom, now she wants all of her money back so her husband isn't mad at her. This is not how you do business, now there is a complaint at the Revdex.com without even letting my team finish what they were contracted to do. I will be going to her property today to take photos and see this popcorn removal that we supposably messed up her ceiling. If the ceiling was destroyed, I know I wouldn't have received the text, IT LOOKS GREAT!! Consumer Response The owner of the company wrote this and none of it is true. They haven't sparkled the dry wall. The dry wall is tape falling off and I have pictures to prove all of it. I did in fact have permission from my husband I have messages to prove and if you thought I didn't then why would you begin the work to begin with. I requested for someone to come look at my house and see it first hand or a supervisor on the job site to make sure the work was being done properly. I don't appreciate you calling me a liar I have evidence they had no intentions of fixing the mistakes and painted over it. They didn't even offer to fix the damages until I brought it to their attention. I hired them believing they were a five star company and did my research but I ended up crying to my husband , who's currently deployed, over the service and damages to my home. This isn't my first experience hiring a company to make improvements or repairs to my home and I have never been treated like this nor has my home been treated like this. I even sent them pictures they told me they have never received them but I have the messages where I did. They told me they would come over today and look after I've complained about this for days and they haven't showed up and it's been an hour and fifteen minutes. I just want my money back so I can hire a company to fix the damages and actually remove the popcorn from my cielings.Final Business Response I met with the homeowner today and we are discussing a mutual resolution.More Info Received From The ConsumerThe company and I have resolved the matter. They met with me today and we are working on the issue I had with them.
