I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved. Block Scientific stated in their response that they would extend the warranty to one year for the biosafety cabinet and as long as this is honored the resolution is acceptable to me.

missed her move from a warehouse to her facility of other equipment that she was consoldating, we offered to have our Moving Company directly deliver the hood and gave her the optional cost of set-up to help her save time. It was declined and after the Hood was delivered, she hired her own movers to do the assembly. Either way, it would be at extra cost. Block is not responsible for set-up of these items unless paid for as an option. All of this was conveyed.Back to the moving company. We will forward these complaints as I do find it troublesome, however, we have been using this National Company for 10 years and have not had any issues. The hood has been tested and cleaned and records on this are kept. The only area where there may have been dirt is in and under the special Hepa Filter. So we leave the old ones installed and we request the customer to hire a local company to install a New Hepa Filter when they Certify the unit. Again, this was conveyed to the client in advance. So the original used filter is never touched and this is the only area there could have been dirt. Again, it is replaced before use and we let clients know this in advance.As stated, the hood works great. As long as the client follows Class II Biological Hood procedures, has the new Filter replaced and inspected by a local Certified company, like she did, there is no problem on use and no possible method of contamination.To request Block Pay for the Assembly, which was offered as an option, is unacceptable. Our warranty on all recertified units is 90 days on parts, not including filters or lamps. Should she wish to have a free, One year warranty, we could do this as we are sure the unit is in perfect condition. As stated in our terms and conditions, the warranty is parts only and labor is not included if needed. But we will extend the warranty to 1 year in good faith.  Thank you.

Review: We ordered a refurbished biosafety cabinet from Block Scientific. I requested an accurate date of delivery because we were moving multiple pieces of equipment and wanted all of this done on one day. The biosafety cabinet did not come when the owner told me it would come and I had to hire the moving company to come out a separate day to set it up, incurring additional cost. The owner offered to have the moving company they contracted to deliver it to our lab set it up, but he said they needed directions on how to do this. I thought they lacked experience in this, and opted to have a local company who is well-known for transporting and setting up lab equipment do this instead. This was a good decision because the movers contracted by Block Scientific to deliver the biosafety cabinet used vulgar and sexist language in front of me and our receptionists. I would not have wanted them in our lab to setup a biosafety cabinet even if they were competent to do so.

The biosafety cabinet is fully certified and appears to be working well, however, it was full of dead bugs and dirt on the inside when the technician came out to certify it. On their website, Block Scientific advertises "[redacted]". It is hard to believe a dirty biosafety cabinet full of dead bugs meets any manufacturers specification. I am concerned that this biosafety cabinet may actually contribute to contamination of our biological samples, rather than keep them sterile is it should.Desired Settlement: We would like Block Scientific to deduct the amount of money that we spent to hire a moving company to setup the biosafety cabinet from the invoice they sent us. Also, we would like a one year warranty on this product since it clearly was never recertified to meet manufacturers specifications. Lastly, we would like a complaint filed with the moving company contracted by Block Scientific about the unprofessional conduct of their movers.
