Blondi's Hair Salon Reviews (2)

Review: I was browsing through Groupon and found a Groupon for 49.00 for a haircut and blowdry. I called the salon that was advertising the Groupon and asked If I purchase this Groupon now can I use it today? she told me not to purchase the groupon and whatever deal they have she will honor in-store today. I was delighted and arrived at Blond's Hair Salon at 5:00pm ([redacted]) I was told that the Groupon was no longer available and it will be 55.00 for a haircut and blow dry, she then told me I should purchase the Keratin Hair-Smoothing for 250.00. I wanted to try something new and said ok. She told me I can only pay cash and I sent my husband to Citibank to withdraw the funds. everyone else that checked out paid with a card. She also told me after My husband had left that I needed to purchase A set of Shampoo and Conditioner which was 60.00 again she told me I could not use my card and directed to me to the atm in the store. Later that evening when I got home I checked Groupon and the following is what they are still advertising until November 2013: $49 for a haircut with a blow-dry and Aveda botanical treatment (up to a $155 value) $99 for ombre or balayage highlights, toner, and a blow-dry (up to a $305 value) $125 for Brazilian keratin hair-smoothing treatment and haircut (up to a $535 value) Mastercard, Visa, Discover. Amex Are all accepted at this location. I went to the website and wrote an e-mail about my experience. [redacted] contacted me and offered to refund 55.00 to my card, I told her I was never given the option to pay with my card, how can I get a refund? she then told me I can pick up 55.00 at a different location.Desired Settlement: My desired outcome will be to be refunded 180.00. the advertisement says $125 for Brazilian keratin hair-smoothing treatment and haircut (up to a $535 value). The services that were rendered to me was Keratin Hair-Shampooing and a trim.

Response:

The Keratin treatment performed on the client was not the same product that was advertised on Groupon. The product used was a stronger version of the Groupon Keratin special, this was selected based on the client’s hair/needs/length/etc. with the client’s consent. Therefore the price was not the “$125 Brazilian keratin hair-smoothing treatment” and was based on the product used/client’s hair. There may have been a misunderstanding regarding the use of Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or Amex- as all are accepted at Blondi’s locations. Tips, however, can ONLY be given in cash.

We apologize for any confusion. As I remember, you were very happy with your hair. We would like to offer you a complimentary Keratin treatment with the same stylist.

Response:

We are willing to include the haircut with the service and refund $57.48

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Review: Went to [redacted] for a single process based on the credentials he told me he had. I was there 6 hours, he put hair color in to cover my gray, which did not accomplish that at all. He then proceeded to highlight my hair, even though the single process did not take. He over proceeded front of hair, resulting in breakage and white hair. As he proceeded to blow dry, I saw that the gray was not covered, hair too light and stripped. I told he he needed to fix it, and at first he proceeded to argue with me and tell me I was wrong, it looked fine. Finally, he put in another single process. It covered the gray a little better, but was wrong color, and hair was now bronze/coppery, which was not what I wanted. WHen I told him this, he told me it was the lighting. Finally I left after being there 6 hours, but was charged almost $250 dollars, which I paid. I went back a few days later to express my dismay. The owner left it to the receptionist and would not come talk to me. The receptionist told me they would not give me my money back and someone could fix it. That is not an acceptable alternative since I do not trust this salon to do a good job. This was the second time I went to the salon. Three weeks earlier I went with a coupon for a haircut. At that point [redacted] applied pressure to do highlights in the front, even though I needed my roots done at that time. When I said that he said he would make it all blend and charged me $150 for highlights, and also got bleach on my shirt which they did not reimburse me for. I was surprised when he proceeded to put highlights in again just 3 weeks later. So all and all, I am out over $500 in less then a month, plus a shirt, and my hair is damaged and awful.Desired Settlement: I expect a refund. I do not want anyone from this salon ever touching my hair again. I do not trust them at all.

Response:

On 7/**/2013 [redacted] had come in for a haircut using a groupon certificate. Upon consultation we had discussed all aspects of her hair, including the regrowth and the several lines of demarcation from previous color services provided by other salons. She had expressed to me that she was concerned with all the different colors in her hair, her white regrowth and the "stripes of different colors". I informed her that we could possibly blend them in by adding a few highlights around the frame of her face and throughout the top of the hair and that I would only be able to remove them completely by performing a color correction with hair bleach. We discussed the pricing and she said to go for it. Upon completion of the service, she claimed to have loved her new hair color and style. She left the salon happy. About a week later, [redacted] came back to the salon with a turquoise shirt in her hand asking if there was a way to remove a bl each stain from her shirt. I told her that since it was bleached, there was no way it could be fixed. At the same time she told me she wanted to do her root touch up and add more highlights because she really liked what I had done to her hair. We again discussed pricing and she agreed. She came in for her second appointment with me on 8/**/2013 and we spent approximately 5 hours trying to get it exactly right. She had expressed that her roots didn't take, I said to be patient and let me see it when it was fully dry so I can adjust the formula if needed. when it was fully dried, I saw that she was right and happily reapplied a second formula to her root area. 15 minutes after I completed the application of color, she stated that she had to run back home for some kind of delivery, I believe she stated it was a bed. I told her she needed to return to the salon within 10 minutes or it could be over processed. She didn't return until 25 minutes later so the color was le ft on for 15 minutes longer than it should have been. I washed out the color and then proceeded to blow dry her hair once again. After the services were all completed she said that she loved her hair again. and that "we have finally found the perfect formula for her hair-color needs". Two-Three days after the service she came in to the salon and was cursing and screaming to speak to the manager because she was unhappy with the results. Claiming that her hair was orange and that she had stripes and that she wanted a refund. We offered to correct her hair at no charge to which she replied with all sorts of threats and more cursing. By the way, she also wrote bad revues and wanted money back from two salons in the area, one of them was [redacted], also AVEDA salon.

Response:

[redacted]'s statements about [redacted] "knowing" are based merely on assumption and/or Speculation. She cannot possibly know what was in the mind of another human being. With that having been said, we wholeheartedly stand by our previous statements as they are based on fact, not speculation.

"As previously stated in my first response, all prices were discussed for all services provided and agreed to. It is not the salons policy to provide services then subsequently give a price. As far as the shirt, we did apologize but there was no way to remove the bleach stain. Her statements about how highlights and color were applied are inaccurate to say the least. She was offered a correction at no charge by someone else in our staff, she declined with cursing and screaming at the front desk to which many of the clients and stylists witnessed. In her initial complaint she said her hair was yellow, but in her revision she states that its white. As far as [redacted] knowing the roots didn't cover, that's a false statement altogether. He said that he needed to see it dry before he could tell for sure. When the hair was dry, he applied the color to correct it, which was supposed to be left on for 30 minutes but it was intact on her head for more than 45 due to her getting her delivery. He added more highlights at the clients request. We certainly do no force or pressure people to get services they do not want or need."

[Your Answer Here]

I am not going to continue to go back and forth here, these are lies. Whoever is writing these responses, I am assuming the owner, is going by what [redacted] told him, which are lies. [redacted] knows the truth, and I am sure how he opperates will continue to effect him, as witnessed by all the complaints against him and the salon. I find this back and forth abusive, to say the least.
