Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2015/10/08) */ Case # XXXXXXXX Regarding tooth #( lower right 1st molar )On 10/8/during the initial exam it was noted that old crown had decay under itX-rays revealed a possible re-infection around the roots, however patient said it wasn't bothering him and that he is NOT interested in going to an endodontist (root canal specialist) to retreat the toothHe was referredPatient said root canal was done approximately years ago On 3/24/the old crown was removed because of gross decay on the distal of the toothA new crown was made and the patient was told we would cement it on temporarily so that the patient could see a specialistWe were to check tooth but patient did not make another appointment because of his insurancePatient said he did not want to pay! On 8/31/patient came into office with the crown in his handHe said it came off approximately months agoPatient was told that he should of come right in to put it back on and reminded patient that it was only temporarily put onPatient said he was too busy at work to come inDr [redacted] worked on crown for approximately hour on 8/31/Crown would not fit since it had been off for so longHis molar had extruded and rotated to the point where it now needed a new crown! Patient had been chewing on bare tooth for months, unprotected and may have cracked itPatient was told again to see an endodontist and then we would have to re-make the crownPatient was very upset! He wanted a new crown for free! On 9/25/patient saw an endodontist, they called us to say that patient was seen and that patient did not expect to pay for anythingEndodontist said that the tooth could be saved but with only a 50/chance of survivalEndodontist felt there may be a cracked rootI, Dr [redacted] , called endodontist and he did not tell patient that I should not have put a crown on a tooth without seeing a specialist firstThis is a fabrication by this patient to put blame on Dr [redacted] ! In fact, patient was referred to endodontist but never went until it was too lateThe endodontist said that not having a crown for several months may have contributed to a possible crack on that tooth I did call patient on 9/3/to say if he came in, I would place a temporary crown on the tooth to help protect it, so please call the office to set up an appointmentHe never didI never said I would fix for free! My message said, I was sorry he was upset and that I would place a temporary crown on tooth until he could see the specialist Patient did go to specialist, only after the crown came off and was told that the tooth has a 50/chanceSince patient did not want to pay for anything he was referred back to DrWinters office for extractionWe told endo office to refer patient to an oral surgeons office for extractionPatient phoned my office threatening us on 9/2/15, 9/3/15/ 9/28/and 9/30/15, wanting to know who is paying for all this, meaning the extraction and possible replacement of tooth Here are the facts: Tooth #had gross redecay Patient was referred to endodontist, but never made an appt Patient said tooth was retreated before and never had pain since A new crown was placed with temporary cement after decay was removed We were never notified that the crown came off and was off for approximately months We tried to recement crown, but it would not fit, spent an hour working on it Patient went to endodontist ONLY after we told him that he would need a new crown Endodontist was told by patient that he was not paying, so endodontist let him go and told him to extract it Patient called my office different days to threaten usVery rude to staff Patient was negligent in not returning to my office in a timely manner to recement crown Patient was negligent in not going to specialist as was requested at initial exam Patient not telling the truth and trying to make us look responsible for his mistakes My staff and I spent numerous hours trying to keep this patient happy, but unfortunately it comes down to his insurance and what he may have to pay Patient is a pushy and rude person and will not be seen in this office again Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (3000, 7, 2015/10/14) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) First of all I feel it's important that all parties know who I am since we know [redacted] is an educated man and has taken an oath if I'm not mistakenI am A US NAVY DEEP SEA DIVER Vetran! Maybe you seen the movie Men of Honor if not [redacted] might want to watch it so he understands what it is to take an oath and live by itAfte all the thing I have been threw and shared with [redacted] over this last year, ie my daughter was hit by a car last October and was in ICU for weeks I made the mistake in sharing this with [redacted] Notice in his response he brings up money like I didn't want to spend any, would you if you had no idea what the cost of your daughters accident was going to costNow back to the first paragraph basically this is not true [redacted] said he was going to have [redacted] give me a referral to see a specialistNever happened and for [redacted] to say different would be hear say he was not at the front desk when I checked outI never received the referral until after [redacted] put a $ crown that he admits was infectedNext statement by [redacted] is I didn't want to pay he and his staff know I use a flex spending account and try to save the right amount for this reason8/statement has some truth except I did come by right after it fell off the infected tooth that u new was infected before you took old crown off I came by on consecutive Fridays only to find out they are closed on Fridays so he is trying to make it sound like I just disregarded the crown not trueSpecialist when I told him what happened he did tell me that that was odd and [redacted] should of sent me to him first common really! It's only common sense and if I have to summons [redacted] DDS MS MSD to testiphy to the fact that he did say [redacted] made a mistake so be it , because nobody with any common sense is going to think putting a $crown on a tooth you knew was infected you are the doctor not me I did what you askedYou the PROFFESSIONAL in hindsight I bet you do this next time you should of left the tooth alone until patient seen specialist not after you yes you [redacted] put a $crown on a tooth you new was infected and I'll bet I can find several dentist that would agree with me, but I only need one your the professional we patience trust in what you recommend we know your human and can make mistake like the time you left tooth fragements in my gum was I rude then no I understand we all make mistakesThe problem here is you won't admit to it live up to your oath and be a man and let's move on before this has to continue with my stage plan right now your in stage oneAs much as big Govermnent is problem it does give many options counter uncommon senceAlso going back to specialst why don't we make some random calls to dentist ask them what they would of done? And the voice mail I have it in his voice saying there would be no charge if you like I'd love to stop by the Revdex.com and play it for you he agrees with pretty much everything I'm complaining about on the voice mail please listen to it I can come by right and play Here's the truth apparently when [redacted] says facts he means bending truth I will answer alls his facts truthfully as I am a man of honor and do what I say and say what I do Yes tooth had decay I seen it on X Ray 1- [redacted] 2.I made the appointment as soon as I recieved referral, now [redacted] may believe his statement he was not at desk out checkout and if anybody told him differnt at his office he has a whole other problem to take care of1- True the tooth has never change in any x Rays over last years.2- [redacted] true, but that's the million dollar ? Why did you put a crown on a tooth that you new was infected WHY! All this other [redacted] is illrelavent3- [redacted] True closed on Frydays 4- 6.true notice he is only concerned about his time I also lost an hour maybe he would like to reimburse me for my time5- I went to specialist only after I recieved referal5- 8.I asked them how much was the appointment and they said my insurance covered it and the reason the specialist didn't want to pull tooth is he don't want get involve with winters mistake of putting o a crown when tooth was infected 5- 9.I called to talk to you but you never retuned my call so what choice did I have, but to call back I was only calling because I didn't want to go here, but here we r maybe if you would of retuned my calls you wouldn't be reading this! Uh! 5- 10.went by two Frydays in a row right after it fellWho uses temporary cement on a$crown a nd tells you if it falls out come see me I'll put it back inNow looking back bad idea! 5- same as he is just blowing smoke here 5- Big if all I asked was why did you the PROFFESSIONAL put a $crown on a tooth you new was infectedYes correct bad call should of never donemy mistake was letting you spend all my flex spending account on a infected tooth that you couldn't fix 5- I was happy until you wouldn't admit you should of never and problem never will agian put a $ crown on a infected toothYou should of manned up and instead of waisting energy arguing over he said she said and moved onWhat ever happened to the customers always right5- Half true I was never pushy until I started to realize that [redacted] was not a man of honor and does not live by his oath as a dentist, as far as not being seen I think I fired you first but nice try I give old man [redacted] this one since we can agree on that one I will not be seen by [redacted] Still I win to and you still haven't ansewered the million dallor ? WHY! Did you put a $crown on a tooth that was infected and you new that it was infectedIn my opinion you can't and I have an appointment with the specialst at VA hospital so I will be getting a opinion from another dentist on why and in what situation that we would put any crown on any infected tooth and I bet I get it in wrightingIn closing some of what [redacted] says is correct however a lot of the key statements are flat out lies or half truthsIt's funny how the other dentist I talk to said that he just made a bad call and couldn't understand why he wouldn't just make it rightI do not except his reply and I still have a $bridge that is only tempary cement so he never finished that either when I was at his office last I explained I had a root showing and it was sensitive I will have to pay a new dentist to finish what I already paid [redacted] for so I will be refunded the amount to finish with the bridge and $for the crown he fraudulently put on an infected toothIt hard to believe that a man that has been able to have a successful practice on the backs of young men and women that serve in our military to protect his right to practice that when he had a chance to serve us he turns his back and disrespects our honor Sincerely US Navy Vetran we served so you who couldn't can live in peace and freedom
