Review: On 11/7/13, I contact BLS, [redacted] (owner) Eldercare to process a Veterans widows pension for my mother after seeing her at a seminar on Eldercare. She had [redacted] in her office handle this. I gave her a check for $250 and on 12/4, [redacted] sent paper work to have my mother sign and I also provided a death certificate for my father and his discharge papers which had some missing information (but in my conversation with [redacted], she said she could work with this.). On 12/19/13, [redacted] sent me an e-mail stating that she submitted an informal claim on 11/27 but with the paper work she received a full agreement will be signed "today or tomorrow". On 1/7, I asked [redacted] how much my mom should get and she sent me e-mail saying between $200 and $400. On 2/20/14, I sent [redacted] an e-mail asking for a tracking number and [redacted] responded for her/[redacted] (who I found out is no longer an employee) that first I needed care giver and dr forms, etc. and I told her this is for a pension. She then did not respond to calls/e- mails and after I called several times had her asst. call me and nastily shouted over me saying that the death certificate and discharge forms were insufficient and they only filed an informal claim, but kept saying it's retroactive to 12/1/13 and said if I don't want to submit more forms, they don't care and hung up on me. I called and e-mailed several times, and [redacted] never returned a call and sent me a curt e-mail saying "we told you what we need". Nobody apologized and said they dropped the ball nor took any accountability. I was lied to that they had processed the forms and if I didn't contact her office nobody would have contacted me that anything was missing. They also have the ability to contact the VA to get addtl info on discharge papers. It takes 12 months as it is to get money from the VA and now we are already into 14 months due to lack of response. Upon querying [redacted] to see if there were complaints, every one said she is a fraud.Desired Settlement: I want a refund for the $250, I want my mother's entire file back (all information and signed documents that I sent), I want proof that she is a licensed person who has the VA permission to file claims, since it's my understanding that it's illegal to charge for this service and she does it under the guise of financial advice, and I also want to know where this claim stands (if it was ever submitted with the VA) and how I am able to track this so I do not have to reinvent the wheel. I no longer want to do business with her, as she is a fraud, which is evident by the fact that she doesn't respond to e-mails and/or telephone calls except with curt/rude responses where she acts like she paid me, and never apologized for dropping the ball and there are multiple reviews of her on line stating this and that she has taken elderly people's money without providing the service she promised/charged for.

Business

Response:

We have 1000s of clients who are delighted with our service. I do not understand why Ms. [redacted] will not give us the information we need to complete the process for her. The process was started several months ago and we have locked in a date for her. Instead of cooperating, she calls and yells at my staff. I will return the fee since I do not want to do business with someone like her.

I am rejecting this response because this is an absolute lie. Her assistant yelled at me over the telephone and could not have been any ruder. If [redacted] was so concerned, she would have returned one of my many telephone calls and/or responded to the email when I let her know how rude her staff was. They acted like they paid me for a service. The main is[redacted] here is that BLS did not follow up with me and if they were missing items from my father's file, I was not informed, and if I didn't call them, I am certain that nobody would have contacted me. They also falsely said, in an e-mail, that everything was completed and filed and retroactive to 12/1/14.

I was told, by e-mail, from [redacted] in [redacted]'s office that everything was complete and the application in full was completed on 12/19/13. If I had not called BLS Eldercare a few weeks ago, nobody would have told me that anything was missing from the file. This could have gone on for a year if I didn't call and my mother could have never lived to see the money that she needs. Rather than apologize for dropping the ball, her office staff was rude, I never received an apology for them dropping the ball, [redacted] would not return telephone calls and/or e-mails (sent me one curt e-mail), I was asked for documentation that I already sent (ie- death certificate- they claimed that the "copy" wasn't clear, and I sent an original- I even have a correspondence e-mail with [redacted] about that. [redacted] also continued to use [redacted] Nyoni's e-mail, as if she still worked there, and I was told by a staff member that she did not. I called her office several times and e-mailed and told them that I want a call back from [redacted] and want this fixed and never received responses. If they required more documentation regarding my father's discharge dates, they can contact the VA, as that is exactly what I would have to do. While I do absolutely want my money back, I also want proof (tracking number) that the application package was sent, as in follow up calls to the VA, they have no documentation of a file, and I want copies of all of the paper work that I sent to BLS Eldercare. In looking at reviews for BLS Eldercare, this is a problem that several people have had and it's documented on websites that reviewed BLS services. I am also aware that there are several Revdex.com complaints and this company has a C+ rating so I am sure that I am not the only person who didn't find their services up to par.

I want: My $250 back, proof that the file was put through the VA- a tracking # is what I need, and copies of all of the paper work that I sent to BLS Eldercare.
