Blu Roofing has installed a brand new roof for us and they did an excellent job! They are a company of absolute honesty and integrity. We've been very pleased with every aspect and are so appreciative of their attention to detail. We would highly recommend Blu Roofing to our friends and neighbors as they did an outstanding job!

Work was done seven months behind schedule and without a permit. Furthermore, forged engineering reports were provided to me in an attempt to defraud me, as well as provided to a city inspector to mislead him into approving the work that was done. JR attempted to get away with thousands of dollars that insurance was paying him for work that he had no intention of doing. Payment is being demanded for work that was not done as well as work that is not up to code and needs to be repaired. Multiple subcontractors were not paid with the money I had given him. Avoid BLU Roofing at all costs.

Blu Roofing had done an excellent job with my roof and it help in lowering my home owners insurance also!!!

I just wanted to share the incredible experience I had using Blu Roofing with everyone.[redacted] and his crew well excided my expectations. The roofing crew was very neat and tidy. They always cleaned up at the end of each day. The crew was very friendly and curdious.

On a couple of issuers I had with my insurance company, JR was the one on the phone woring out the details. When they finished, the roof looked fantastic.

I upgraded to the high impact roof and saved a lot on my home owners insurance. When I look at the houses in my neighborhood, my houses roof stands out. I'm the only house with a drip edge on my roof, and my roof makes the other roofs look like they have been done with poor workmanship.

I have and would highly recommend Blu Roofing to anyone. They are a superior company. You cannot go wrong with this company!

Initially I had a large piece of fascia fall from the house. It was about 20 feet off the ground and beyond my reach. I asked a friend for a recommendation and she provided a name and phone number. The contractor arrived and also checked the roof and said there was roof damage. I called my insurance company and they sent an inspector to evaluate. The inspector confirmed there was roof damage. The contractor explained all the things he was going to do for me. My response was for him to work with the insurance company on what the damages are. I was only going to pay my $1000 deductible. He continued to repeat this each time I saw him. And my reply was the same. He should work out the detail with the insurance company. I am only going to pay the $1000 deductible. I signed a proposal dated 10/8/2014 on 10/17/2014 with a “To Be Determined“ estimate. The proposal stated that the final pricing agreed on between the insurance company and “The Contractor” shall become the final contract price for the insurance approved scope. The Credit Union (my home has a mortgage with them) asked for a permit number and an estimate before he could begin. He provided a permit number and a proposal dated 10/8/2014 on 10/24/2014 with an estimate of $7983.88. The Credit Union issued a check for $3000 to the contractor on 10/28/2014. The contractor said they were going to come the next day and I thought everything had been worked out. The crew came on the morning of 10/29/2014 and finished about 6 that evening. The contractor provided a proposal to the insurance company dated 10/8/2014 on 10/30/2014 with an estimate of $27,983.88. This was the day after the roofing work was completed. I did not see nor was I aware of this proposal until early December.

Some time went by and the contractor called to say the insurance company wasn’t going to pay for some items that he had installed and blaming the insurance company for the problem. Then the insurance company contacted me (about early December) to say he had completed the work without a scope of work, without an agreed to estimate, and without a contract. He had worked off a proposal dated October 8, 2014, received on 10/30/2014 which I had never seen, with an estimate of $27,983.88 . The only estimates I had seen were the ones he provided to me to forward to the Credit Union and the one I signed. About that time the contractor started harassing and threatening me to pay for his work, both on the phone and in emails. I told him “xx” and hung up on his last threat. The Credit Union and I asked the contractor for an invoice or a detailed bill. He provided two proposals on 12/30/2014, dated 10/8/2014 and 10/17/2014. The amount for each of them was $27787.56. Eventually the insurance company, after a lot of continuous harassment, made him an offer and he accepted.

CONCLUSION

1) I received a proposal ($7983.88) on 10/24/2014 which the insurance company did not
see. The insurance company received a proposal ($27983.88) on 10/30/2014 which I
did not see. This was the day after the roofing work was done. Both were dated
10/8/2014.

The contractor simply added $20,000 to the original estimate received by me
($7983.88), split the additional $20,000 up into different categories, and gave this
“revised” proposal ($27983.88) to the insurance company after the roofing work was
complete; thinking the insurance company would pay it. When the insurance company
refused, he decided he could threaten, insult, and intimidate me into paying. I refused.

2) The contractor had completed the work without a scope of work, without an agreed to
estimate, and without a contract.

3) This contractor is a scammer and a fraud and if he needs a license to practice it should
be revoked. Too many seniors are being ripped off by this type of person. Maybe
checking his prior client list and interviewing them might indicate additional fraud.

4) I received an email from the contractor asking me to pay the $1,000 deductible.
This figure was included in the final payment to him. His fraud and scams simply don’t
end.

5) He and his firm need to stop this Senior Fraud and Scam.

BLU Roofing replaced our roof in 2012 and did a fabulous job!! They worked with our insurance company adjuster and handled all the interaction with the insurance company. It really was wonderful to not have to be the middleman. Also, our insurance adjuster complimented BLU roofing for the great work and easy of working together.
We also had an issue caused by our builder and BLU roofing advocated for us to the builder. BLU handled it so well that the builder fixed the issue they caused for no charge to us.
We recommend BLU roofing to anyone who asks us and we strongly recommend them to you.

Extremely helpful and professional. Great overall experience, would definitely do business again when in need of roofing expertise.

Unbelievable experience. BLU was quick to provide an estimate and beat the nearest competitor by 11%. They understood our need to have the project completed quickly and had it done the day after materials were delivered...less than one week after we selected them and paid the deposit! The work is outstanding and the area was left spotless. I can't say enough great things about BLU Roofing.
