Shoddy work. Wrong materials. Promises to rectify but never does.
Hired to build a treated fence. During construction it was pointed out that he was using plain steel nails instead of nails specifically made for use with treated lumber. This is because of the highly corrosive nature of the chemicals used in treated lumber. Contractor was unaware of this and promised to renail the fence in the future if the nails began to be a problem. Sure enough, the fence boards are now falling off because the nail shanks are rusting through. Owner was contacted last June. He stated that he would have someone come fix it in July. Nothing...owner was contacted again at the end of March and said that it would be fixed the following week. Nothing. It is obvious at this point that he has no intentions of rectifying this situation without the involvement of a third party.
