Hi Tina, I see that you reached out to us on to us on 7/ [redacted] regarding an account cancellationWe responded hours later with a link to cancel your accountNo deliveries or charges were made after your delivery on 7/**Because your request on 7/ [redacted] was after your delivery on 7/**, you charged the regular price of $We are unable to locate additional contact prior to 7/**Please let us know if you used an alternate email address to reach out us

These jerks are thieves and con-artistsThey will not allow people to cancel completelyI went through all the cancellation instructions right after a delivery, because I preferred Hello Fresh, which was more affordable and grouped appropriately, but they still went ahead and delivered food at a time when I was unaware and prepared to be out of my apartmentGod only knows how long it sat there when it was discoveredI hadn't even finished the first delivery, and it's probably going to go bad now because I wasn't able to get back to my apartment during the blizzard, and I don't expect to be in my apartment for another four daysNot only that, but I am attempting to pay off my credit card, but guess what? They continued to charge money without authorizationGood luck trying to cancel because they do not have a call center, and there are no humans to talk toIf you send them a message through their website they just send you an automated reply with instructions for how to look things up in FAQsIf someone could find something in an FAQ they wouldn't need to send a message to customer serviceDuh!

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved They have canceled the subscription and sent email confirmation of which I attached a screen shotWhile this does not make up for charging me for the deliveries I expressly asked them not to deliver, I am satisfied with knowing I will no longer be charged for food I do not wantI do not wish to pursue any further action on my account, however, I believe their business is designed to rope people into their subscription forever until someone goes to these lengths to cut ties with the company I can attest to the fact that their multi-step process to cancel the subscription that ultimately ends in following a link to cancel, did no such thingIt wasn't until I contacted you, sent increasingly hateful emails, and canceled the credit card I used to open the account that I actually received confirmation from the company that my subscription was canceledI am sure it is technically legal, but it is wildly unethical Sincerely, [redacted] ***

I have been subscribing to Blue Apron for almost a year nowMy fiancé and I have loved the recipes and also have learned so much about cooking I am writing this review because I got curious and tried a competitor brand and it was terribleI figured I'd give Blue Apron the praise it deservesHere is why it's better: 1) the ingredients are carefully sourcedI have learned about unique, small food brandsI've gotten to try incredibly fresh food and nothing that comes in my Blue Apron kit is something I could find at any old grocery storeIt feels way more exclusive 2) the customer service team is awesomeThere have been a couple instances where things have been left out of our box or something had been damaged/molded during the shipping process, but customer service has always made it right 3) the recipes are amazingI think maybe in the past months, there have been recipes I didn't loveIn general, they have expanded my palate and love of new foods 4) this kind of goes along with the ingredients sourcing, but all recipes are appropriate for the seasonThey really celebrate seasonal produceThe summer recipes also seem more skillet-based, which is great because you don't have to heat your whole kitchen 5) their presentation and customer experience seems to always be improvingI am a UX designer so I'm overly sensitive to these thingsFor example, their packaging has improved even just over the course of a yearThey have found more efficient ways to ship delicate foods like mushrooms so they don't get damagedThere are lots of little details like that, and it makes a big difference!!

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolvedBlue Apron Customer Service contacted me today via email and informed me that they would be giving me a full refund Sincerely, [redacted]

Blue Apron's product is fineOverpriced, but perhaps a decent option for people without much time to shop Unfortunately they don't offer gluten free options and I decided to cancel after my free trialAt this point Blue Apron quite deliberately and overtly forces the customer to pay for an additional week, despite claims during the free trial that you will be allowed to cancel Here's how they prevent you from cancelling: First - there is no cancellation option on your account onlineInstead you have to search for an email address and send a cancellation request to the companySecond - using the email address given on the website generates an auto response email telling you to use a different email address! The entire email is deliberately confusingThird - after sending the cancellation request a second time, to their second email address, within their deliberately tight window for cancellation, I thought I was done with themHowever they instead wait to reply to my email until the next day at 12:13pm - approximately minutes after the deadline to cancel, and tell me that I have one more meal coming Now, clearly the company received my email the night before and had all morning to process the cancellationThey quite clearly chose to wait until after their own deadline to process a manual request (when they surely could have done this instantly online instead), and then act as though I somehow did not cancel within their window This strikes me as a blatant scam and an illegal breach of their own commitment to a risk free cancellation trial, as is promised on sign up

The recipes and quality of the food are excellentHowever, their customer service policies are horribleAfter we decided to cancel, there was a message on the screen that said that if we didn't cancel, they would give us the promotional price for a second weekWe were charged the full amount, and when I told customer service, they said they don't give partial refundsThey added it to the next week, which meant we had to resign up again for a third week, after paying in full for the second week, even though we never had agreed to that previouslyThen in the third week they forgot two ingredientsWe had already cancelled future orders for the time being, and when I told customer service they told me they would credit us $backThe whole point of Blue Apron is to be able to cook these ingredients delivered to your house - when you're busy with work and kids you don't want to go out and get the missing ingredientsThere was no offer to ship them out, just a credit for a closed account

I received an offer for a free week of BlueApron, in order to redeem it, I was forced to create an accountHowever, once an account was made, I was autocharged $for meals in the future, and found that there was no easy cancellation The ability to cancel the service is made needlessly difficult and the link to do so is hidden on their siteFor this reason, even though I somewhat enjoyed the service, I felt compelled to unsubscribe and report to the Revdex.com

With the free trial invitation, the cost of the entire first delivery is freeFollowing that first delivery, all accounts are enrolled into a weekly subscription to receive fresh ingredients and delicious recipesAt sign up above where Tim put in the credit card it clearly states, "Enter your billing informationYour first order will be free of chargeYou will receive future deliveries at $per weekYou can skip a week or cancel your account at any time with days notice.” Tim’s first delivery which arrived on 8/ [redacted] was free, and the charge he saw was for the second delivery, which arrived on 8/**He wrote into our customer support, and we issued a refund on 8/**He still was sent the box of food and hopefully enjoyed it

While I found the quality of the product acceptable, once I decided I could no longer afford the cost and the time needed to maintain a subscription I wanted to cancelThis is clearly made to be as annoying and confusing as possible in order to stop people from ending the serviceI had to google directions on how to cancel and then I received an email with a link embedded in it which sent me to a page that gave me the option to "pause" my subscriptionConfused and frustrated I tinkered Around with the large info displayed and somehow managed to miss the incredibly small print that gave me the option to do what I had been trying to do all alongCANCEL!!! I am now in limbo wondering if I need to re-activate in order to deactivate and feeling pretty slighted by the whole experienceBlue Apron had great meals but the shady customer service has left a bad taste in my mouth and I will never recommend it to anyone

[redacted] started a free trial with Blue Apron on 6/*, her first delivery with us was 6/**In signing up all members must accept our terms of service, which includes a cancellation policy outlining that cancellations need to be made 5-days prior to next order [redacted] emailed us twice on 6/ [redacted] and was provided instructions on how to cancel her account twice (both on 6/ [redacted] to a spouse who emailed, and on 6/ [redacted] to her directly) [redacted] cancelled her account on 6/**Unfortunately that was past the deadline to cancel the next week's orderWe have, however, reached out to [redacted] in apology and offered to refund the second charge [redacted] has disputed the charge on her account, and we let the dispute go throughEffective the bank will refund the funds to her accountHer account has been cancelled, there will be no more charges and no more deliveries sent

We signed up to receive the family dinner plan and were expecting our first delivery on Wednesday The business apologized for the delay and said that the food should arrive by 8pm that night and that if the ice bags were still frozen and the food was still cold to the touch it was still fresh and safe to eatOur delivery did not arrive until after 10pm and the ice bags were no longer frozen, something slimy had leaked all over everything, the food was slightly cold to the touch and everything stunk

I signed up for a promotional deal on Blue Apron, and now it is impossible to cancel the serviceI keep getting charged $The only way to cancel a delivery is to skip the deliveries up to weeks in advance, then it automatically schedules deliveries after weeks and charges you againNo business should be able to advertise a promotional deal, automatically enroll you in the service, and then make you continuously cancel the service every weeks
