Although it stated non-refundable, [redacted] was unwilling to work with us due to medical injury and not able to attend the camp.Our son wanted to attend the Blue Chip Football Academy Camp being held in Shippensburg, PA from Monday, 7/7 through Wednesday, 7/9/2014. I signed him up on Saturday, 6/28/2014 at 1:48pm. Monday, 6/30/14 in the evening he injured the top of his back which two doctors diagnosed as upper back muscle strain. He was prescribed an anti-inflammatory and a muscle relaxer. An x-ray was taken upon our request to ensure no vertebra fractures. I contact [redacted] (XXX-XXX-XXXX) on Thursday, 7/3/14 to advise him that our son wouldn't be able to attend the camp. He advise no refund and was not willing to work with us in a situation that can't be controlled. I forwarded to his e-mail ([redacted]@comcast.net) the 2 doctor slips saying that our son could not participate due to upper back muscle strain and he again replied no refund. The cost of the camp was $395.00 which was paid on Saturday, 6/28/14 with my debit card (receipt #XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX).Desired SettlementSince our son not able to attend the camp due to medical situation which was uncontrolled we would like to be refunded $395.00.Business Response Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)It's an unforeseen situation. Companies charge a penalty not keep the entire amount even Airlines and Hotels handle situations with penalties not keeping all of your money. Mr. [redacted] was given adequate notice that our son would not be attending the camp due to him being under medical care and not able to travel. Since our son was not in attendance and no accommodations where needed the only cost should be a penalty. I would say 25% is a fair share, since like I said nothing was done for him at the actual camp.
