Insurance that we pay for through my husband's employer wants to argue over their inability to do a very simple math, division problem and hold my prescription hostage!!
Trying to tell me that it was written for a 3 week period, absolutely not, 14 day supply of medication we now have to pay out of pocket for because someone who has the ability to be involved with health insurance, money collected and medication that's needed every single day!!! Called me a liar twice!!

Health insurance policy was cancelled WITHOUT notice for late payment.

Most monthly invoices were never received and those that were were not clearly differentiated from regular Explanation of Benefits mailings. Paper invoices do not clearly indicate what month(s) are being billed. Statements dated January and February 2019 contained no indication that the policy had been cancelled. A notice of termination dated 12/15/18 in an envelope postmarked 2/6/19 (two days after I called BCBSVT to inquire about this situation) was received by mail on 2/12/19.

Online electronic payment portal does not provide PDFs of paper invoices (only a summary of current amount due), does not display full payment history (electronic or check), and does not generate an email notification if an automatic payment fails.

A spreadsheet of invoice/payment history received in response to my telephone inquiry still doesn't clarify what months are being billed for and inexplicably shows some invoices with a negative amount due, while the next month shows multiple monthly payments due.

When I asked how to appeal the policy cancellation I was told I needed to mail a letter to the PO box listed on the statement. Finding this inadequate, since the insured (my disabled adult son) is currently without insurance, I appealed to the BCBSVT ombudsman, who at least gave me an email address and the name of the appropriate department. In frustration, I also contact ***, who has offered to help if my letter doesn't get a prompt response. All of this has taken two full workdays of my time.
