Review: I allowed my health insurance with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Montana (BCBS) to expire and did not renew my policy. The expiration was as of 12/31/13. I received a letter on 1/31/14 indicating that BCBS had signed me up for a new plan effective 1/1/14. I immediately called BCBS, and the customer service representative confirmed that I did not want the policy renewed and indicated that it had been canceled effective 12/31/13. I then received a packet detailing all the benefits of my new plan. I again called BCBS, and again the customer service representative said to ignore the packet and that I did not have a policy with them. I then received an insurance card in the mail for the new plan. A third time I called BCBS, and once again they indicated that I was not on a plan and that I would not be billed and that my plan had expired on 12/31/13. On 3/29/14 I received 3 more insurance cards (all apparently for the same plan and all for myself) and a fourth time I called BCBS to complain and they (for the fourth time) indicated that I should ignore the correspondence and that I would not be billed, nor did I have a plan with them. Then on 4/1/14 I received an invoice stating that I have a beginning period balance due of $556.65, and a balance due for the period of 4/1/14 to 4/30/14 of $185.55 for a total due of $742.20. Not only has BCBS continually stated that they agree that I do not have a health plan with them, but they have not previously sent any billing for the supposed beginning period balance. I am sick and tired of calling BCBS, and I am concerned that they will affect my credit rating with their false billing.Desired Settlement: Blue Cross Blue Shield of Montana (BCBS) needs to ensure to me that I do not owe them a thing and that they are cancelling all billings related to this false account and false billing and that this will not affect my credit rating. If this has already affected my credit rating, I demand BCBS take whatever measures are necessary to correct this wrong.
