Mrs. [redacted] purchased a Mocha Diamond Ring from our Blue Diamond location in Puerto Rico on March 3, 2012 for $2,750.00, the customer did experience problems with the ring in which we had repaired and returned to her in a timely manner. On July 15th 2016 she visited our Alaska location and wanted to...

upgrade her ring, as per our return policy the customer has a lifetime upgrade option in wish the customer is offered to return the item for the original purchased price towards the next item. At the time, Mrs. [redacted] was visiting we could not find her in the system nor did she have her original receipt and we offered her $2,500.00 for the mocha Diamond Ring to be upgraded to a new White Diamond ring for $3,650.00 leaving a balance of $1,150.00 that she paid that same day. Once the customer found her original receipt she was offered a $250.00 refund for the difference of the value given for her upgrade.
Blue Diamond guarantees that the customer will be given a refund if the item purchased appraises for less than the purchased price, in which the Mocha Diamond Ring sold for $2,750.00 appraised for $5,500.00 and the upgraded white diamond ring sold to the customer for $3,650.00 appraised for $5,100.00. both items being appraised by two different gemologists based on individual opinions.  
We are offering Mrs. [redacted] a refund for $250.00 that is due to the error in our date base system and the customer not having the original receipt at the time of upgrading.
