Blue Eagle Credit Union

Review: I have been banking with what used to be Roanoke Postal Employee Federal Credit Union since I was 14 years old. Back then the bank was like family...then they switched to Blue Eagle Credit Union and it hasn't been the same. Most recently I decided to finance a new car with them upon approval they mailed out a $23k check via regular mail (who mails out a check for that amount regular mail)?!?!? The next day I went to the dealership and they offered me a better deal if I financed through them. I decided to take the deal assuming the check had been overnighted and when received I could simply overnight it back to the credit union. I was so wrong! Now 10 days later the check still has not come in the mail. I called Blue Eagle to try to put a stop payment on the check and they have refused stating that I would be responsible for any interest that accrues. When I asked them why they didn't send the check certified they indicated they would refuse to pay for such an expense. I told her that it should be an option to offer customers for instances such as this. Now due to their incompetence and/or greediness I am responsible for any interest that accrues?!? After 23 years with this bank I am sorry to say I am done! UNACCEPTABLE!!!Desired Settlement: Given the amount of the check it should be at the very least an option for the customer to be able to overnight the check to the desired location. I would simply like to put a stop payment on the check and cancel any interest that accrues.
