Blue Egg Realty Corp. Reviews (2)

First, the client has received a full refund on 3/*/15 and a proof of the refund was emailed to them that day. So, we feel this complaint should have never been submitted. Not to mention that the...

person who submitted this complaint is not even the applicant, but the guarantor of the applicant who currently resides in France and planning to move to NYC. Second, we didn't "wait" 5 days to respond to the client. We have been in touch with the client on a regular basis, so there is no need to make it sound as we had ignored the client for 5 days. Collecting paperwork by the brokerage from the clients and a final review by the actual Landlord could take several days. It took the clients several days to submit all their paperwork, and couple of more days for the Landlord to review the file. Plus, there was a weekend in between. Third, we didn't false advertise the price. The asking price was $1700 for IMMEDIATE lease start date, while the applicant applied on early March to a VACANT UNIT and wanted to start the lease only the [redacted] of April, which was 3 weeks away. This is NYC and apartments don't usually stay on the market too long, especially if it is a good deal. To expect a Landlord to wait 3 more weeks for a client (while the apartment is vacant) and provide it for the same price is a to ask the Landlord to lose money. Therefore, the Landlord asked for $100 extra for a postponed lease start date of April [redacted]. Otherwise, he wanted $1700 for a March [redacted] lease date. Since the client refused, their initial deposit of $1700 has been fully refunded, and as a courtesy their processing fees of $250 (which were technically non-refundable) were refunded 24 hours later. To summarize, it is very easy to go online and write bad reviews on companies without any consideration to one's own actions. We didn't refuse to pay the client any money back, but on the contrary, we refunded their non-refundable processing fees out of courtesy. The only loss of money was ours; after the credit checks costs, background check costs, and wire transfer costs. We do hope the client found an apartment to their satisfaction and we wish them all the best. Best regards, Blue Egg Realty

Review: Blue Egg Homes publicized an apartment for rent in Brooklyn for X price and allowed us to go through the application and approval process and requested that we send in a security deposit and fees before the approval was complete. They then waited 5 days to reply that the [redacted] of said property wanted $100/month higher than published rate and wanted the move in date to be 15 days earlier than discussed (thus another half-month rent). When we said we could not pay that rent and wanted to be reimbursed and how was it possible to not know the level of rent and move in date for a property for which you collected a security deposit (so the said amount is explicit in the amount collected which equals one month rent) they refused to reimburse the fees saying it was our fault because we did not want it at the move in date requested by the [redacted]. I had a phone call from the agent stating our file was approved. We indicated that we would agree to negotiate the date if they would keep the rent at the original price but the [redacted] of Blue Egg Homes refused to take 100% of my calls and had his assistant reply that the "application was technically rejected due to our refusal to take March ** as a move in date" There is no way on March ** that one could finish a lease and arrange to move in in less than 5 business days with this horrible service. We feel that Blue Egg Homes is operating a fraudulent service and [redacted] is full of horrible reports on this company.Desired Settlement: We would like to have the $250 in fees refunded immediately. At the time of this complaint, the other $1700 in security deposit is supposedly 'in transit" to my bank.
