It is Blue Gross Sod Farms intent to ensure that our customers and homeowners receive sod of upmost quality
We have tried several times to remedy this situation by offering the solutions outlined belowHowever any attempts to communicate with *** have been futile as ***n *** has yelled continuously during every phone call, sworn at myself and my staff repeatedly, and made threatsI have attached (in APPENDIX A) a sample of the types of communication we receive from *** *** when trying to broker a reasonable solution to this situation
Please be advised that:
Our company, Blue Grass Sod Farms, has been in operations in Central Alberta since We have been growing, supplying and delivering quality sod to customers across Alberta for over years
On Monday May 30, *** ***/*** called our office to purchase sod and have it deliveredHe ordered SF of sod be delivered to ***t Edmonton and sf of sod be delivered to neighboring property at ***He was informed the sod would be delivered the next morning
The total sod ordered was 5,square feet and total cost of his order was $for the sod including delivery plus ($pallet deposit which has subsequently been refunded)
It is the peak of our busy season and the sod ordered by *** *** was cut, rolled and stacked onto pallets during the early evening of Monday May 30,
On Tuesday May 31, 2016, this sod was delivered to Edmonton and dropped at the above named properties by as per Mr***'s request
The temperature in Edmonton on Tuesday May 31, was degrees Celsius
Rather than lay the sod upon delivery on Tuesday May 31, 2016, Mr*** ***/*** left the sod sitting in the heat rolled on pallets for the day
It is important to ensure your mediator at Revdex.com understands that sod is a perishable productIf left rolled up in the hot sun sod will begin to overheat from the inside from the center of the rolls due to existing moisture and lack of oxygenWhile in cooler temperatures sod remains stable for several days, it is common knowledge amount reputable landscape firms that on hot days, sod must not be left in rolls in the heat, as it will heat/compost***
At some time on Wednesday June 1, Mr*** ***/*** decided to lay the sod for their customers

A knowledgeable installer would have quickly realized they were handling sod that had started to compost, as it would have felt hot to touchThis occasionally happens in this industryWhen sod is left in the heat and contractors are faced with a decision:
a) Recognize the sod quality has been jeopardized and not install the productInstead order new sod
b) Hope for the best: Install the sod even though it is slightly hot; fertilize, water generously, and wait a few weeks to see if sod survivesReturning to replace damaged pieces if necessary
It appears Mr*** ***/*** chose option
On June 2, Mr*** *** started phoning and texting myself ***We suggested solutions offered below, but he refused
Of interest to note is that between these very inappropriate rants to myself and my team on June 2, 2016, Mr*** tried to order more sod from our company for another jobBased on his unstable conduct and mistreatment/harassment of our staff we choose to decline his business
It is our position that our company Blue Grass Sod Farms dropped quality sod off at Mr*** ***/*** site on May 31, This assertion is substantiated by the fact that sod cut at the same time was delivered on the same load to other customers in Edmonton on May 31, was fine
The problem is that *** ***/*** choose to leave the sod sitting in the heat for an additional hours before laying itIn doing so, they allowed the product to get too hot and start to compost*** ***/*** then choose to then lay hot sod on their customer's property
It is our desire to have no future interactions with Mr*** *** or ***
We are however interested in helping the homeowners
To that end we are prepared to:
Deliver new sod pieces for Mr*** *** or *** to install in the spots where the sod is damaged*** *** *** *** *** ***
Alternately, we are prepared to send a member of our landscape team to these two properties and repair the damage sod pieces ourselvesThis option will enable us to deal directly with the homeowners, who I'm sure just want quality lawnWe can then ensure the customer receives a high quality finished product, and this solution mitigates any reason for Mr*** ***/*** to interact with our company or staff in the future

I do accept the resolution Bruce has offered, and he is welcome to send his team of installers out, to replace te dead pieces of sod at both address's in Edmonton, which he already has the unit numbers to, as the sod was delivered to both address's, and the dead peices of sod are more than clearly visible
