I have had a similar experience with this tree business which wasn't a good experience at all. I also got that tone from Lisa when I tried to get what we agreed upon. Then she told me that, "It was my problem now." I wouldn't recommend their services to anybody I know.
My primary reason for making this a review as opposed to a complaint is that I trusted the owner and felt he would do the right thing. Here is my timeline regarding my recent experience with Blue Owl Tree Care:
June 20, 2018 - had Ben and partner come to give estimate on job. Stated I was trying to be a good neighbor, needed things off the fences and basically wanted to be able to “see” my fence. Given price of $350.
June 21, 2018 - trusting the job was done correctly, paid without walking through the yard. Prior to their departure, partner asks if I will give them a good rating for Revdex.com because of a negative review/rating through Yelp. I said I would. After their departure, noticed SW corner of yard was not done; incomplete job but had paid $400 by check (included tip)
June 22, 2018 - sent text message to Ben stating the job was incomplete.
June 22, 2018 - Ben replies, stating he can get back out in “next couple of days to get it taken care of”.
June 22, 2018 - I respond back, thanking him and asks for his availability.
June 29, 2018 - It has been one week and I have not heard back from Ben so I send another text message asking when he plans to return and to let me know ASAP.
July 5, 2018 - Two weeks and I haven’t heard a thing so I called Ben and left a voice message.
July 6, 2018 - “Lisa” returns call. We discuss situation. She states she will speak with Ben and call me back stating “we are not trying to short change anyone”.
July 6, 2018 - “Lisa” calls back to say there’s no way they could come back and finish for free. I state that Ben had already stated he’d be back to take care of it. Lisa argued that I never stated I wanted the SW corner of the yard done. I repeatedly asked if I was now able to see my fence since that was the framework of my initial conversations with both of them. She interrupted me to speak, I interrupted her. She states twice that she doesn’t appreciate being spoken to like she’s 12. Ridiculous assertion when I’m questioning her recollection. I finally stated, go ahead and keep the money, I’m done with you all; but will give feedback to Revdex.com
I’m having issues trusting the professional integrity of this company.
It is extremely disheartening when there are people out there that you go above and beyond a detailed signed contract to help out because as a small company that is who we are and what we are made of. Then to use social media to slander and disrespect you simply because they have no valid basis of their complaint seems beyond belief. We now and will always stand behind our integrity and quality of our work. We appreciate all of our loyal customers that will continue to trust our name as we grow into a larger market.
I have used Blue Owl tree service for about 5 years. We have a lot of trees in our yard and Ben and his team have kept them looking great. As anyone who lives in Colorado knows, our snow storms can destroy your trees. Ben has been awesome by coming out and cleaning up all the broken limbs after the storms. I think the best thing I like about Blue Owl is that after he trims your trees, you really don’t know he was even there. The cleanup is amazing.
Great people to work with...will use them again!
