Review: On 3/4/2014 we called the blue parrot and asked if they were open that day. They stated they would be open at 5 pm. We arrived at 5:30 pm and were told they were closed when we went inside by an employee. Another corrected her and said yes they were open. How confusing. They were setting up for fat Tuesday also at this time which was understandable. We each ordered the jambalaya. The menu stated shrimp were in the entre. When it arrived there were none in the dish. We brought this to the attention of the waitress who explained to us because of the price of shrimp they were excluded. At the price of 15.95 each we told her this was not acceptable, and that the menu said shrimp. Large shrimp can be purchased for 10.00 a pound at any supermarket. She then went to the kitchen and brought us 2 small plastic cups with dime size or smaller shrimp to add ourselves which is not acceptable. Days later we were still mad. Management was aware of the situation. We contacted the owner ourselves at [email protected] and told him so. We requested a gift certificate be sent to us to make up for this 2nd bad visit or we would post bad comments online if nothing was done about this. We were there a couple of years ago for lunch. At this visit we had lunch. When we ordered dessert the waitress came to us and told us per the manager we were underdressed. I had on a sleeveless shirt because it was like 100 degrees outside. Sadly we skipped dessert and left unhappy. We thought we would try them again. The manager and I exchanged a couple of emails with no satisfaction. It seems he did not even read our emails because of his comments. He said go ahead and contact the Revdex.com. He was more concerned on correcting my spelling than correcting the problem at hand. On 3/9/14 I sent a letter to the editor at Delaware today which gave them good reviews in the past. I also posted my comments on facebook.Desired Settlement: A gift certificate mailed to us for the price of a full dinner. I think about 100.00 will do it. After this we will withdraw all negative comments and post good ones about our experience.
