Blue Ribbon Towing Company Reviews (4)

The initial diagnosis of the vibration and oil leak WERE addressed by our shopAs stated in our very first response to this customer - we fixed the first obvious cause for both vibration and oil leakWe replaced a bad motor mount and a bad oil filter adapter gasketBoth were bad, both were replacedWe had to start somewhereWe offered to look further into this customers vehicle, but she didn't want to spend anymore moneyShe took the car out of our shop - and was very rude at thatShe somehow feels that for the $she spent, which included a NEW lower rear motor mount (the other was broken, and would cause vibration), a NEW oil filter adapter gasket (the other was broken, and would cause an oil leak), an oil change service to include an oil filter (she provided her own oil), Lucas oil additive to try to help with the rattle first thing in the morning (which we felt was cold startup bearing noise from a motor that is tired), she should have gotten her car in perfect condition, with no oil leaks or vibrations whatsoeverThat is not how repairs work on any levelShe was unwilling to listen to our mechanic that there were further issues that we would need to spend more money to find and fixIf she would have allowed us the opportunity to fix further issues, this would have not been an issue at all. We will NOT refund this customer money, as the work done was justified, needed, approved and FAIREverything we did, fixed an issue related to her initial complaints and those parts are still on the vehicle, doing what they were intended to do.We DO NOT do business in an unprofessional or dishonest way, never have and never will. This customer needs to realize what she is complaining about is unjustified, unfounded, and honestly ridiculousEveryone that knows anything about repairs of ANYTHING knows there may be layers of issuesYou have to start with the top issue firstEspecially on a vehicle that is years old, with miles on it and has never been maintained regularly or appropriately

This customer, *** ***, came into our shop with her *** *** with miles on it and the complaints of1) Vehicle has a rattle first thing in the morning, 2) Vehicle has vibration, 3) Vehicle has oil leakUpon inspection and diagnosis of the issues it was determined that the
following needed to be performed in order to rule out other issues1) The rattle first thing in the morning is being caused by cold startup bearing noise - most likely due to the engine being worn outWith customer approval we added Lucas oil stabilizer to try to help with this issue2) To find a vibration we looked at motor mountsUpon inspection of the motor mounts we found the lower rear motor mount was brokenWith customer approval we replaced that motor mount to see if vibration would continue3) Vehicle has an oil leakTo find an oil leak we have to start at the top, as oil runs down and gets on everything as it doesWhile looking for the oil leak, the first one we found was coming from the oil filter adapter gasketWith customer approval we replaced that gasket. The customer had also requested an oil change, and supplied her own oilWe performed the oil change, used her oil and we supplied the oil filter. As most people realize, a vehicle this old and with this many miles may have several issuesWe have to start from the beginning to eliminate issues and be reasonable with the costs of repairsEverything we did to this vehicle needed to be done and DID address her initial complaints. The customer contacted us about it not being correct and we asked her to bring the car back in so that we can look for more issuesShe insisted (very rudely) that she shouldn't have to do that because we should have repaired it correctly the first timeWell, we DID repair the parts that we started with correctlyAnd she approved it, after being told we had to start there and would determine if there were other issues after the initial obvious ones were resolved. This customer wants her money back, however we don't feel this is right because we did everything she asked us to do, she approved the work and the new parts are still on her car. We are a very fair and honest shop, and we feel that we have done everything we can to try to please this customer that doesn't want to be pleasedHer car is not going to be new again, not until she buys a new car$is not going to make a *** with 207k miles newNO one would think so

I am rejecting this response because:
Regards,
R Herndez Davidson The response is something that I would expect this type of businessThey are making the car appear as though it is falling apart when in fact it has been well maintainedI would have to be in order to get to milesThe requests were specific to two problems which neither one was properly address and repaired. The vehicle has been evaluated by a independent shop and they were quite surprised that the mechanic involved missed the obviousWe had taken the car back on a couple of occasions but rather than looking into the issue they just stated the car was getting oldWe requested the vehicle have a oil leak fixed and the vibration fix which were not doneMost shops have a service warranty which we feel was not honored. We would like for them to at least honor they workmanshipThat alone says a lot about how a business takes care of their customers. Thank you

Complaint: [redacted]011116: took vehicle to Triad Power Systems and requested to have an oil leak and vibration issue checked.011516: Vehicle picked up Friday after hours. Noticed vibration still there and noticed a burnt oil smell. Oil drops on mat in garage the following morning.011816: Contacted mechanic regarding vibration and burnt oil smell. State that car was high in mileage and that’s why vibrated and did not address the oil smell issue.032216 The oil leak was getting worse so took the vehicle in to a reliable shop that look it over and diagnosed the problem correctly and fixed the issue but had to pay them to fix the issue.I have invested an additional amount of money to fix what should have been completed by the first shop. The car is running well I feel that Triad Power Systems did a disservice to this customer. They were not able to correctly diagnose what was wrong with the car and when they did their repairs were not willing to address why the car still had the two specific problems we took it in for. Not sure what there shop warranty is but you would think that they would at least want to make things right with the customer. I am willing to work with this shop to come to a fair resolution.I am rejecting this response because:Regards,
