Blue Ridge Auction

Review: I am a resident of [redacted] Retirement Community living in [redacted], Virginia, born May 1, 1933. Mr. Bitwick's auction premise was in the town of Elliston, VA and his recommendation was made by a grandmother who also resides in the retirement village.

The first meeting began in October 2013 at my residence where a contract was signed and items listed were transported by truck by Mr. Bitwick later. When Mr. Bitwick was telephoned by me at a later date I learned that his business was not opened each Saturday in the month and business sales were not promising - i.e. a $2.00 offer for the Dell computer but I advised him to keep the items and continue to pursue business. A few weeks later he informed me that the china cabinet had sold for $15.00. I declined a check in December 2013 and advised him to continue his efforts.

A follow-up meeting was scheduled in February 2014 but having waited at my residence for 30 minutes, he was a "no-show". I assumed that a snowfall that day prevented his appearance.

In March 2014, I received a telephone call from an unknown caller who reported that having viewed a "for sale" sign on the internet, he was willing to pay more than requested via the internet.

Mr. Bitwick was contacted and met at my residence on April 5, 2014. On that date he informed me that following approximately to $2000.00 business loss he had closed shop in November 2013. No funds have been received by me as of this date April 28, 2014.Desired Settlement: According to the contract, I request seventy percent (70%) from the total amount of items sold.
