Blue Ridge Heating & Air, Inc. Reviews (3)

What a great business! Met with these guys in May 2016 for a new air unit and furnace. They were extremely professional, answered all my questions, and used absolutely NO pressure tactics. We had obtained 3 different estimates and Blue Ride rated in the middle price wise. Their professionalism along with the interest free financing, sealed the deal. However, it got better. The job took 4 days due to the extensive work needed. The technicians were top notch. They educated me along the way, made some adjustments that were not part of the original quote, charged nothing for it, all because they wanted to make sure the job was right. The system is great and the service top notch. Cleaned their mess each day, were respectful, and professional and had pride in their workmanship. They also kept we advised all along the process. Would highly recommend this Company without reservation!

Review: I had a central A/C system put in July 5, 2012. With the system I got 10 yrs. Parts and labor. I was having a problem with black dust getting into the house this year and they sent some one out to check it. Now they want to charge a trip fee of $79.00 for coming to look at it. It was never mentioned before, and they didn't get the problem fixed.

I don't think I should have to pay the fee.

I purchased the system through [redacted] And Blue Ridge was the contracted installer. Blue Ridge was also the ones that came out to explain things to me before the deal was finalized. At that time it was explained to me that there would be no charges for 10 years. They would inspect it once a year and replace the filter, but we would have to pay for the filter and inspection, but that is all we are suppose to have to pay for until the 10 Years are up.Desired Settlement: If we have problems, there should be no charge for coming and checking it out, or doing the repairs.

Response:

As Mr [redacted] noted he does have an extended warranty from the [redacted] Company. It covers repairs on his equipment for 10 years, it does not cover maintenance. Mr [redacted] is complaining that we charged him for coming out to investigate a dust issue in his house, according to the Terms and Conditions this is not covered by his warranty, I have highlighted multiple paragraphs that explains whats covered and whats not covered. This is a no failure call and according to the T&C is not covered. Thanks [redacted]

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Our warranty says we are covered for 10 years on the outdoor unit, compressor, outdoor coil, and functional parts and labor. The 20 minute trip from [redacted] to [redacted] does not justify the charge unless labor is part of the charge. The person doing the check said our Curio cabinet was to close to the air intake causing the problem. He told us to move it out and see if it helped. We did and it didn't help. He said if that didn't fix the problem, he didn't know what else to do. It didn't fix the problem. We never called them back because of what the service man said. Ihe cabinet he wanted us to move was there when they installed the unit and the system worked ngood until they did the annual inspection on the unit. After the inspection we started getting the dust in the house. I think that justifies a check without the labor charge. The trip fee is a hidden charge. When the person came to talk to us about installing the unit, we were made to understand that we would not be charged for anything except the intake filter and the annual inspection. On the annual inspections they were suppose to find something wrong and replace that part at no charge to us, and do that every year for the 10 year period. At the end of that 10 year period we would be looking at a complete new system. So we wouldn't have anything to worry about. That is not in the contract. That is just verbal. Anyway they don't do that either, but I understand that. The hidden trip fee, I do not understand.I paid the fee. If nothing is done about it, I understand that too.

Regards,

Review: On 5/15/15, we hired this co. to come out and check (2) Air Conditioning units at our home. The sales person ([redacted]) indicated numerous problems with both units. The total fix for both were in excess of $3,000.00. We called for a second opinion ([redacted]) on 5/20/15. They told us that each unit only needed a small amount of SR22 coolant, and everything else was operating as it should. I wrote a letter to Blue Ridge about this and asked for a response. Never heard from them. I take it very personal when you pay a company for an honest opinion, and don't get it.Desired Settlement: List this company with an official complaint with shady business practices. The return of my $118.00 would be a start, for I had to pay an additional $94.00 for an honest opinion.

Response:

Mr [redacted] was giving an honest assessment of his 22 yr old equipment. He set the appoint and agreed to pay the 59.00 a-c system check on 2 systems (118.00). We provided to him a list of what we found wrong including the LOW FREON which is what [redacted] found, he did not authorize us to make any repairs. I'm not willing to adjust any portion of this bill as Mr [redacted] agreed to pay this amount upfront and that's all he was charged. BTW our 2nd opinions are free.[redacted]
