Blue Ridge Solutions Reviews (6)

Review: I hired Robert H[redacted] of Blue Ridge Solutions/Construction in December 2015 after a garage fire. He stated he held a business and Contractors license to myself and mortgage company. He did not begin any work until Feb 2016 after many excuses. He received $4100.00 in December when the contract was signed. As of today 3/11/16 he has done no construction only removing items in the garage, removing siding and taking down 1 wall. The garage now is completley missing 1 wall and is exposed to all the elements. He is now asking for more money. It was also found that he has no license.Desired Settlement: I will be telling him today to not continue any work on my property and will ask for a refund. I will be hiring a new contractor to finish the work but do need the deposit I gave him back.

Review: Mr. H[redacted] was given a deposit for a room addition to our house on June 10, 2015 as requested in the written contract.

As of today, Aug 14, 2015 he has not gotten a building permit nor has any work begun. He has mislead us by stating that he had some personal problems and assured me several times that work would begin. Last Sat. I sent a certified letter stating he no longer was to do this job and requested a refund of my deposit in full by certified check. He has not refunded the deposit nor has he contacted me. I have checked with Chesterfield County Building Dept. last Friday,

and no permit has yet to be submitted. I would like him to refund all of the deposit as he has done nothing!Desired Settlement: I would like a refund in full by certified check.

Review: Six months ago, a contract was signed to attach a garage to our home. Contractor required one third down to start which was $6,425.00 and a check to the county for $449.84. As of today, he has not yet even started to build the garage. During the past two months or so, he has not been responding to my text messages or phone calls. I have requested either the garage or a refund with no response. Please investigate and advise as to what can be doneDesired Settlement: I would like to have had the garage built. But now I am skeptical that if he were to start it, he might not finish it. So, my desired outcome is to get a complete refund.

B.R.C. / BRC & Associates / Blue Ridge Construction / Blue Ridge Solutions – Owned by [redacted], of Dilwyn, VA
The owner of this company has no business license or contractor’s license. He operates by construction fraud. He has been stealing money from people of 10 years and has more than eleven court judgments against him, yet he continues to operate. He takes deposits from people to build garages, decks, or additions. He may begin the projects, but never finishes, and what he begins is not constructed according to building codes. He obtains no building permits tells the customer he will take care of everything.
Taking him to court is useless because it costs over $1100.00 in legal fees, but the victims of this fraud do not get their money refunded. [redacted] refuses to show up in court, the judge awards a default judgment, and that is the end.
Before you hire any contractor in Virginia, check the [redacted] to verify a contractor’s license and find out if there are any complaints on any licensed contractor.

Review: Contractor misrepresented himself and frauded the customer out of thousands of dollares. Refused to do the work contracted and refused to repay monies due. Contractor does not work out of a physical location, but conducts businees by cell phone on number [redacted] Goes by the name of [redacted] with the business name of Blueridge. A home builder who cannot get credit and lies to customers about his background and fraudulent business.Desired Settlement: Either return the money or do the work.

Response:

After speaking with [redacted] from the company on 7/17/13 he stated he has been in contact with the customer but due to the weather and the bank he is at a standstill, but intends to finish the work.

Response:

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]

Regards,

The response is simply another aspect of the SCAM this buisiness perpetrates on its victims. The contract was made in January 2013. The conversation being referred to here was held in May 2013. It is now July 2013. Have we really had that many bad weather days that he could not lay some rocks for driving heaving equipment to the site. I hardly think so. Also, notice that the response did not give a date as to when this work would happen. This is just one more disreputable business that consumers need to be aware of.

Response:

[redacted] from the company stated he has spoken with the customer on Monday 7/29/13 and they have figured out a resolution and he is working towards it.

Review: We contracted with B.R.C. - [redacted] - on April 30, 2013 to have a garage built. The contract stated that the garage would be built in 45 days. It took over 14 months! They cleared the property on May 10, 2013 and then didn't put in the pad until September 24, 2013. The pad failed county inspection and then they didn't try to correct it until we threatened a lawsuit. Even then, we had to pay for the concrete block and mason in March of 2014. We were put in a position where we had to pay for more materials so we didn't lose the money we had given [redacted] (Over $16,000)and we had to do some of the work ourselves. He would promise to finish the garage and then drag it out another week which turned into another month or two. Even though it took this long everything was done in a rush and done poorly. The garage was finally completed on July 3, 2014. In the course of all this we found out that [redacted] does not have a valid contractor's license. We just want to spare anyone else the aggravation of working with this company.Desired Settlement: N/A

Response:

The Revdex.com spoke with the business. This project has been completed to the customer's satisfaction, there was a delay due to issues with the inspectors requirements as well as delayed payment. The business had the customer furnish the materials and he covered the labor.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the comment made by the business in reference to complaint ID[redacted], there was no delay in payment and the inspection delays were caused by noncompliant work performed by BRC. There is nothing to resolve as the garage is completed because we performed some of the work ourselves and paid for the materials and labor to have it completed. I was just attempting to notify the Revdex.com of BRC's bad business ethics and performance. It was 14 months of [redacted] getting them to work on our garage and earn the money that we had paid them. You can consider this matter resolved as we do not want to have any more aggravation. I was just attempting to warn others before they hired this unlicensed company. Regards,
