I did evaluate the damage after the fk and found that there was a considerable amount of damage to his cabinets and drywall previous to our tech coming out. Admitted my him and his wife. pay for 25% of the repairs even when it was more like we had caused 10% of the additional damage. By my observation the leak that they had, had been going on for quite some time. I have included a ledger of what happened when my tech arrived. At the time of arrival I was shown to the kitchen where I determined the owner had a cracked pipe in their dishwashing drain. I noticed a lot of damage caused by the crack in the drain. Their cabinet was completely warped and the drywall in the back where the drain went into the wall was obviously crumbling. The owners explained to me how they knew about the damage and the leak had been going on for a long, undetermined, amount of time. Then after doing the Blue River Plumbing Inspection Chart, I found damaged drywall in the basement; where the owners once again told me they knew about the damage from previous leaks. After speaking with the owners and giving them the fee for fixing the leak, I proceeded to do the work. When I finished the job everything appeared to be working fine and there were no leaks. Later that day I realized I had inadvertently used the wrong glue and immediately called the owner to make the necessary repair. When I went back they informed me they had used their dishwasher. At this point I looked for any further, new damage. All I found was an area downstairs underneath the sink area next to the original damage where the paint showed bubbling down a small corner of the wall. By this information given to me by my tech and the information given to me by the homeowner it is difficult for me to believe we are at fault for most of their damages. Being there was a sewer backup and a known leak before we arrived I think my offer of 25% of the damage repair is more than adequate. I proceeded to repair my work and added a new clean-out so there would be easier access next time they had any backup in their kitchen sink.   I finished the job and apologized. The owner seemed very pleased with the work and thanked me for coming back. He mentioned he was concerned about the bubbling on the wall. He also acknowledged he had previous damage. He knew they had run their dishwasher once since I had left the first time and had a small leak.
