This is [redacted] the manager on duty on 8/31/14 for the [redacted] Outing. "Scam one" is a prepay option that we give to all customers at $25/ hour they can prepay fuel for their outing most of the time people choose this option so that they don't have to wait in line for fuel at the end of the trip...

also so they do not have to worry about how much fuel they are going to use while they are out. It is always made an option and never mandatory for renters to prepay their fuel but once the decision is made to prepay if they don't use all of the prepaid amount we do not credit them back the remainder. "Scam 2" We do not send out boats at all anytime without showing the customers the propeller and having them sign the checkout form indicating that the boat, its equipment, and everything about it is good to go and especially that the propeller is in good shape and not damaged before the outing. I did the checkin when the boat returned from their outing they had come back an hour early and not used all of their prepaid fuel neither of which I am obligated to refund but the problem was that the prop had been bent and damaged. I told the man the propeller was damaged he disagreed and said he did not hit anything I showed him the bent propeller and his excuse was that we did not have a pitch gauge for him to measure the pitch of the prop before it went out although it was obviously bent when he came back. We charge $150 for damage to our propellers and because he was an hour early upon return and hadn't used all of the gas he had paid for I told him that I would only charge him half of what we usually charge because of the gas and early return. It states clearly on our rental agreement that early returns will not result in a refund but I made an exception thinking I was doing the right thin since he hadn't used all of his time or gas he had paid for.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
I did not approve the prepaid gas charge. My 26 year old daughter is not authorized to approve charges on my card.
I did not bend the propeller. The inspection before and the inspection after were totally different. I do not agree with their findings.
At at a minimum I want a refund of $75 for the false propeller charge and $50 for gas that I did not approve. Total $125
Regards,
[redacted]

This is [redacted] manager on duty at Blue Sky Boat Club Responding to a complaint about a card that had been authorized for a $500 Deposit. This was a misunderstanding between this person and their bank we did not charge $500 to her card but it was authorized to hold in the account and should have...

been credited back to her by her bank. I told her this several times we always authorize $500 for a deposit and as long as the boat comes back in proper condition we do not charge this $500 I have never had to use the $500 deposit from anyone. Her bank actually called and asked if they could free up the money that had been authorized which is also something I have never had happen before and they definitely should have cleared it up after I talked to her bank. We definitely did not charge her $500.

The check in check out process may seem different but we check all of the equipment and the condition before and after the outing to insure that we do not send out boats to customers if they are not suitable. I understand that the customer does not feel as if he hit anything with the propeller but it was damaged and we will not be offering a refund. I charged for half of a prop due to an early arrival and unused gas money this is the only discount I am able to offer.

This is [redacted] with Blue Sky Boat Club responding to a complaint about a boat that we rented out on 6/22/14 to a [redacted]. She is right we do a walk around and checklist with everyone before we send them out on a boat. We then have them sign for any unmarked preexisting damages and we show them...

the prop, we have them physically feel the prop then sign for it saying it is ok to take out and that their are no damages to it upon departure. Her husband did the check out, we sent them out and they came back shortly into there venture claiming to have heard a noise and then the boat started shaking very badly. I personally hopped on board and confirmed to be a completely destroyed propeller. She was very upset and said she did not want us to replace the prop and continue them on their outing as it was our fault and the prop was already damaged. We are trained to check the props as they come in and out for this purpose. The lake is very shallow in most parts we are very instructive on where to go and not to go. We are willing to comply in any way over this matter and we would never send anyone out with a damaged propellor. We would also never send anyone out without a signature on our liability waiver or our checkout form. I have pictures of this propellor which I have to add is the most destroyed of all of the props I have ever seen.
