Blue Sky failed to do a repair plan we contracted and paid them to do over a year ago. We contracted Blue Sky Services through their Project Estimator, [redacted], to develop a repair plan with cost estimates for various repairs in our house on November 20, 2013. The total contract price for the repair plan and cost estimate was $2,500.00, which we paid on the same day the contract was signed as [redacted] requested who stated this amount would be fully credited towards the repairs later. [redacted] also promised to complete the plan and cost estimate by January 15, 2014 in two emails.Blue Sky only showed up once after the contract was signed to take a general look at the house and told us they would be back to examine all the items to be repaired in the house and develop a detailed repair plan with cost estimate. We did not hear from Blue Sky nor have we received any plan or cost estimate for about 10 months during which time we were occupied with our health and other issues. We notified Blue Sky in October 2014 that we no longer needed their services and requested a refund of $2,500.00, the price of the contract which was never fulfilled. We have not heard from them after sending several email requests nor have we received any refund as of today.Desired Settlement$2,500.00 since the contract was not fulfilled as we never received any repair plan or cost estimates.Business Response Blue Sky Services, LLC had tried everything in their power to satisfy the customers per our signed contracts. Blue Sky Services, LLC has been dissolved so no further action will be taken on behalf of the customers.

Failure to complete contractual obligations within reasonable timeframe. Company does not respond to phone or email inquiries. On 5/15/13 a contract was signed to add a screened in porch, pour a concrete patio, and add a walkway. Change orders to install a downspout draining system and grading of the back yard were added on 7/11 and 7/27/13. The first day after work commenced on 6/2/13 water damage occurred in the living room due to failing to adequately seal the new roof tie-in to the existing roof. Work was sporadically performed until 8/2/13 when all work ceased. On the few occasions when contact was able to be made with the VP of Construction between August and November 2013, excuses and empty promises were made about when work would be done. At one point he committed to having the project "completed by the end of October." In January 2014 I informed the company in writing that I considered the contract null and void and I intended on immediately filing a lawsuit and other formal complaints based on their abandonment of the project and their refusal to communicate any intention of performing any further work. The Owner and President contacted me on January 28, 2014 by phone assuring me that he would get to the bottom of what happened, assess and correct the situation personally, and get his crew started on the project "next week". He also expressed that with some decent weather the entire project could be completed by the end of February. No work was actually performed on the property until 3/10/14 and continued sporadically through mid April when once again all work and all communication ceased. Attempts at contacting the company by phone and email through 5/8/14 to ascertain when the project will be completed have been unsuccessful.Desired SettlementImmediate project completion with detailed communications on plans and progress from now through completion.Business Response Blue Sky Services, LLC had tried everything in their power to satisfy the customers per our signed contracts. Blue Sky Services, LLC has been dissolved so no further action will be taken on behalf of the customers.Consumer Response The only action taken by the company entailed two individuals coming to the house to determine what work needed to be done. After several more months with no actual work completed I requested a refund for the remaining work. I was provided an offer that included administrative fees and charges for a crew that allegedly came to the house twice but did not perform any work. I was unprepared for the crews because there was no forewarning, no appointment, and no information provided to my many requests as to when or if any work would be performed. When I pointed out that the offer did not include pickup and removal of the large pile of construction debris in the yard that I had already paid for I was told 'that's all you're getting, take it or leave it, there is no negotiating.' I had to rent a dumpster and remove this debris myself. I am still owed money for the services paid for that were not rendered.

Bluesky Services, Raleigh, did not complete home renovation project for more than 1 year and 3 months after getting money.I contracted with Bluesky Services, Raleigh, in Sept 2012. The work started in Oct 2012. They did not complete the project till date (Jan 2014). As per the contract they got all the money except Punch list and Final Inspection. However lot of work is pending including Town of [redacted] Final inspection. The inspectors have failed the inspection citing multiple issues on Bluesky Services work. There were water damages to the Hardwood floor, water leaks in the new expensive faucet, and many other issues they fail to honor it.We sent a Lawyer notice on Dec 12th, 2013, they did not respond to that also.Desired SettlementBluesky services need to get Town of [redacted] Final Inspection, Fix water damaged floors, Fix Leaky faucets, and other pending contract items.Business Response Mr. [redacted] agreed to a revised contract in the very beginning where he cut out a lot of items and work to save money. Budget was his number one priority. A contract that encompassed [redacted] of his wants and needs was rejected based on price. We accommodated his request for a very basic "bare bone" contract. He in turn for a year insisted on high end finishes and fixtures. At every turn he tried to get extras from our workers and subs. We spent countless hours and resources to try to make him happy and meet his budget requirements but we came to a point where there were way too many high end requests and expectations that the clients did not pay for. I hope this does not fall on deaf ears as we truly tried to give Mr. [redacted] exactly what he paid for NO more, No less. We will definitely take care of the remaining items and any warranty issues per the contract. Also we will get all the required inspections and C.O. from the Town of [redacted]Consumer Response We are asking from Bluesky Services, Raleigh, exactly what I paid for NO more, NO less. Bluesky Services, Raleigh made multiple promises to complete the remaining work for the last one year. They never took care of it till date (2/1/2014). Now one year and 4 months completed since the project started.A few examples of the incomplete and unfinished work:1) The inspector cited issues in insulation, Bluesky services, sent someone to do insulation and did part of it and went away. This cold winter, we are suffering from cold draft coming in to our home from crawl space, and we had to manage with extra heating near the kitchen. Also they did not connect the registers properly and lot of heat air is leaking and energy loss due to improper connection. This is one of the basic issues they did not took care of it after multiple reminders.2) They left the bath room exhaust fan moisture outlet inside the attic without letting the air out. All the moisture is just let out in the attic without any way to go out, risking mold and health issues.3) The wooden floor is damaged due to improper plumbing, it is not taken care of till date. This room is unusable now. 4) Range hood is not properly installed, and the air is let inside the kitchen instead of letting it out through duct. I called [redacted] the manufacturer, they said, the builder, Bluesky Services installed it improperly without even checking the basic installation procedures.Till date we did not get any firm completion dates for Town of Cary inspections and major work completion inside and outside the home. As per code many open and pending items need to be completed. In simple terms I ask Bulesky services, Raleigh to complete all the work ASAP, close the project, as per the contract nothing more nothing less. Final Business Response Blue Sky Services, LLC had tried everything in their power to satisfy the customers per our signed contracts. Blue Sky Services, LLC has been dissolved so no further action will be taken on behalf of the customers.

Blue Sky Services has not honored their contract. They have repeatedly committed dates to complete the job but never send anyone as promised. Blue Sky Services was contracted in October 2012 to add an extension to my home. Ground was broken in December 2012 on a project that was estimated (by Blue Sky's original project manager on my project) to 6 months. It took over 9 months to get a CO after Blue Sky's unexplained delays. You can add me to the growing list of customers complaining about Blue Sky in this past year. Like most, I have been fed promise after promise of when workers would be present, work would be completed, calls returned, etc.... And most of those promises have simply been ignored. I won't go in to detail about all of the problems I had with them over the past year, since most of those have since resolved. But despite getting the CO, there are two remaining issues that Blue Sky needs to address (and has promised to address) but again, those promises have been broken. One issue involved fixing damage caused by a Blue Sky contractor. The other is an obvious warranty issue.Damage When the bathroom mirror was installed (actually, the second mirror since the first was not the correct proportion), the installers scratched the new marble vanity top. This was pointed out to Blue Sky prior to project completion, and [redacted], VP of Construction, has made several commitments about when polishing would occur. On Thursday, September 19, [redacted] sent an e-mail stating in part, "The counter too people are scheduled out about 2 weeks on the polishing."No attempt has been made to complete the polishing. I sought more information from Blue Sky in e-mails to them on 10/2, and [redacted] responded on 10/3 that he would "follow up with my contact." I heard nothing back.I have had to e-mail three more times (10/13, 10/31 and 11/13) and get various promises, but no work. WarrantyWhen Blue Sky hung one of the walls in my mudroom, they did not make the wall level. It leans in a few degrees. It's not noticeable simply by looking at the wall, but there is an exterior door to the garage on that wall. As a result, the door does not close tightly, and if it's not latched it will open in to the room (posing a real threat that my children or dog will be able to run out of the home). This was pointed out to Blue Sky prior to project completion. I agreed to allow them to attempt to fix this by adjusting the angle of the hinges. This did not work.On 10/2 I asked that the door be re-hung, level. On 10/3, [redacted] suggested two solutionsIn my 10/13 e-mail I stated that we need the door re-hung. In his e-mail response on 10/14, he stated "I should have someone out there before Thursday." (Thursday would be 10/17). No one showed. As a final demand, on 11/13 I contacted [redacted] again by e-mail demanding that he finish both the repair and the warranty work, and threatening that I would file a complaint with the Revdex.com. On 11/14 he e-mailed back stating for the first time that he was not obligated to complete this work (because wasn't on the punch list which we filled out prior to the damage occurring?) but stating that he would get to the issue "sometime next week" (the week of 11/21). I immediately wrote him back challenging his view of his obligations, but stating that I simply wanted them to finish. To date, I have heard nothing (and it has been two additional weeks with no contact or action on their part. There are many reasons I was not happy with Blue Sky. Many of their subs did shoddy work, and that work wasn't monitored by their project managers (who rarely were on site for the last six months of the job). And Blue Sky's response for much of this is that well, those things are within construction tolerance. But these two issues above, which are the only two I am making the subject of my Revdex.com complaint, are real problems that Blue Sky is obligated to address, and which they have committed to address. Unfortunately, their promises are worth nothing.Desired SettlementComplete the work within 1 week.Case Closed SATISFIED 2014-06-26The company has now performed the repairs and resolved my complaint. You can mark this complaint as resolved.Regards,[redacted]

a subcontractor has told me he will put a lien on my property if the contractor does not pay him. I have already paid the contractor for this work I contracted with blue sky services to build a garage 10/2/2013.after nearly 6 months it still is not completed. the subcontractor that poured the foundation has informed me that he has not been paid by the general contractor for this work and will put a lien on my property if he is not payed asap.I paid the general contractor $2080.49 for this work 1/20/2014. I have sent multiple e-mails to the vice president of construction but have not received any response to date.I told him we could not continue with the project until this issue is resolved not knowing if there are other sub-contractors or supplies and materials that haven't been paid for by the contractor.some parts of this project have been paid for but not completed to date.Desired Settlementi want the contractor to provide me with a signed , written lien release to show all subcontractors and materials have been paid for in full. work that has been paid for needs to be completedBusiness Response Though the Project Manager didn't answer this on the Revdex.com site, we did resolve all issues directly with the client to both parties' satisfaction. Many issues with closing this project were related to inspection processes outside of our control based on what work the client wanted to complete in the future on his own. We assisted in resolving this with the inspections department and closed this project with the homeowner. The subcontractor he referenced was fired for a reason and replaced with another who completed the work. This was handled and no liens were filed. Sometimes contractors are fired and think that empty threats to a homeowner will help them collect money not owed to them. We have extensive contracts with all contractors hired that protect homeowners and our company when situations like this come up.

Hired to do a kitchen remodel, Blue Sky Service has delayed delivery and installation of doors and drawers for cabinets and fails to respond. This complaint focuses on the delayed service in delivery/installation of doors and drawers for the kitchen remodel my wife and I hired Blue Sky Services (BSS) for in early September '13. However, this is not the first time that BSS has given cause to complain especially as regards long delays in communication and service. I will first describe this most latest issue, then detail the history of poor performance.BSS installed the cabinet boxes in mid-January '14, now, more than three months later the ostensible project "manager" will not return email or phone call regarding the faces and drawers that are to be installed. Other outstanding items included in the project include hooking up power to my shed, which was previously unhooked, repairing sheetrock around the new panel, and punch list items.Additional issues that came up during this project include:-After signing the contract, but before work had begun, I was in contact with [redacted] and [redacted] from BSS regarding the interior design elements of the cabinets because I realized that we had never discussed what options we were going to consider during the bid negotiations. The discussion went well, and the [redacted] made suggestions as to what options would work in which boxes. I had assumed that for ~$12,000 for "custom" cabinets, drawers would be included, so I never asked if any of these discussion counted as "change orders." Indeed, never once did either of the [redacted] say there would be any difference in cost for any of the options we discussed. Now within the overall price package we had rounded up from the actual estimate, to an even $34,000, however, once work began, roughly 12 weeks after this series of conversations, I had paid several of the draws provided in the fee schedule, which (other than an authorized change order) had always remained the same (that is, the contract price remained the exact figure of ~$32,600, not the rounded $34k figure). After we decided not to issue a change order to complete the original design (this issue is described below), the contract price was inexplicably raised by approximately $1400 - to the rounded figure. When I questioned [redacted] on this point (and other math errors included in the change order), he became defensive, claiming he had given me a deal on the drawer inserts, and had simply failed to include the amount with the accounting department. I dropped the issue, so as not to hold up work (this was in early December) and, I wanted drawers, which he had essentially threatened to remove.-BSS attempted to alter plans for skylights without issuing a design change and then balked that I suggest they should cover the cost of engineering and installation of a beam in order to perform the job as indicated in the plans they drew and bid on. Ultimately, we removed skylights from the scope, as we realized the whole incident was intended to upsell us (in the middle of winter after the ceiling and insulation were removed). From beginning to end, this epidsode took more than a month to resolve (BSS representatives routinely wait over a week to return calls or emails).-Brickwork was performed by unskilled workers and without the use of level or straightline. After complaining, the same workers did the work over again. Though the lines were somewhat improved, the work was still unsatisfactory (as an actual mason later explained to me) because the brick had been installed wet, the mortar had stained the brick. Though that mason attempted to clean the brick several times using muriatic acid, the brick is still stained. This mason was able to resolve other issues, but I dared not suggest he actually demo and redo the brick work, which was what he indicated would be needed to correct the problem - a) because BSS had already taken a month simply to respond and assure us they would fix their mistake, and b) because we did not have enough of the matching bricks to redo it.In sum a project that should have taken 3-4 months, has taken double thatDesired SettlementFirst, because it is impractical to hire another contractor to complete the work as it has been left, I demand that BSS install the drawers and faces, and complete punch list items that may remain within the next two weeks. Furthermore, BSS should re-attach the electrical line to my shed, and repair sheetrock around the panel.Second, I demand credit toward the contract price for the ~$1400 amount previously "added in."Third, I demand an overall 5% reduction in the cost of the contract cost (which included a 20% General Contracting fee) which amount should be credited to remaining payments, if any, for the abject failure of project management to respond or do work in a timely fashion.Business Response Blue Sky Services, LLC had tried everything in their power to satisfy the customers per our signed contracts. Blue Sky Services, LLC has been dissolved so no further action will be taken on behalf of the customers.Consumer Response Company did eventually settle the outstanding issues in 07/14. Shame they are dissolved, as I recently discovered warranty issues (paint peeling on cabinet doors)... but frankly not interested in dealing with it anymore.Final Business Response Blue Sky Services, LLC had tried everything in their power to satisfy the customers per our signed contracts. Advertizes "FREE ESTIMATES" but will not refund money after I backed out of a project I needed done at my house after 2 days. No contract was signed.called blue sky services for a attic project I needed done. [redacted](owner) and another associate of his ([redacted]) came out and took some measurements and sat down with my wife and I to discuss what was going to happen. He said in order to give us the estimate he needed to schedule another appointment for someone to come and take some pictures of the space and also to come up with drawings(plumbing, electrical, gas layouts) which will cost $1006.40. Wrote a check that same day but I backed out of the project in 2 days but will not refund the money. No contract was signed or scope of work was agreed to.Desired SettlementTotal refund of all money paid.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted]Contact Phone: XXXXXXXXXXContact Email: [redacted]@earthlink.netJust to clear up the inference that we do not give free estimates. We give free estimates all of the time. It was explained to Mr. [redacted] that an estimate would not give him the accurate pricing that he needed. Accurate pricing relies on a detailed design - which Mr. [redacted] agreed - So on November 4, 2013 the client signed a Design Contract for the sum of $1006.40 (We can send a copy signed by Mr. [redacted]). In good faith we started the process immediately, and have incurred labor costs on our end. Our stance has not changed since the contract was signed, and we are more than willing to continue the design process. I feel it is important to mention that Mr. [redacted] wanted a design for his new space along with detailed pricing. That is why he signed the Design Contract. It is perplexing that if he wanted a free estimate, why sign to have a comprehensive design. As a side note, our Design Process is very through and labor intensive. We do Interior Design Consulting, 2D Floor Plans, 2D P,M&E plans, 3D Plans and Interior Renderings, Fixture/Finish Selections, Cost Analysis. We take the design very seriously. Again, we are honoring our end of the contact that was signed.Consumer Response I need all the designs mailed to me and the remainder of my money refunded to me in the amount of $400 which Blue sky services agreed to do verbally on the phone.Final Business Response Blue Sky Services, LLC had tried everything in their power to satisfy the customers per our signed contracts. Blue Sky Services, LLC has been dissolved so no further action will be taken on behalf of the customers.
