Review: I have an erosion problem along my driveway that I needed help in remedying. Blue Stone Block in [redacted] gave me [redacted] name and phone number. We met at my house where I showed him the problem and some of the work I had begun to try and fix it.Basically it involved using dirt to bring the grade up to the driveway then forming a chanel for the water to flow through rather than straight off the driveway. I did the work however I realized after the first rain that it had not been done properly. He did not make the side away from the driveway high enough to retain the water so it just ran down the hill. I contacted him via text to ask him the fix it. I described how I thought it should be fixed and he replied that he did not think that would work. My wife and I reworked a portion of the rip rap and tested it with a hose and our repairs worked. I called him many times with no answer so I sent him a text stating that if he did not make good on his work I would take him to small claims court. He then called and stated that he never guaranteed that his work would fix the problem. I did not have a written contract with him but it is my understanding that a verbal contract is binding. He said "you don't a contract so good luck with that" and he hung up. I am now negotiating with another contractor to perform the work properly.Desired Settlement: Refund the amount I am going to have to pay another contractor to preform the work [redacted] said he was going to do but did not.
