My name is Shirley J [redacted]. I urn he owner of Shirley's Used Appliances. In April 2015 our repairman did go out and look at their washer which was purchased about 2 years ago. It...

was determined that the transmission was bad usually due to over loading and was not Worth the repair. The price of the transmission is approximately $253.28 plus $35 for the service call, depending on the model number.
Total cost Being approximately $288.28. It would also need to be ordered which generally takes 7-10 business days to receive the part.
At that time our technician recommended they come take a look at our stock which at that time started at $199. [redacted] came in and the washer he liked was $299 plus $35 delivery if he chose to use that service, He expected a deal. Being that our washers are completely refurbished $299 was a deal. Delivery is also non-negotiable as our delivery service does It independently. Delivery does also Include free removal.
We did tell [redacted] that we would give him $20 for his broken dryer, but can not give him anything for the washer except the free removal due to the expense of repair & we would not repair it.
We go above & beyond for our customers & treat them very fairly. we put a lot of work & new parts in our units & feel they are generously priced as it is. We do nothing under top quality work.
If he would like the unit repaired the part would have to be prepaid. We would then repair the unit when the part comes in at which time the $35 balance would be due. If he chooses to purchase a different washer the price is as marked plus $35 delivery going into his basement. Upon request we will remove his old appliances with no additional charge & he will receive $20 for his dryer. Nothing for his washer.

I WAS ORIG.OFFERD A $20.00 DISCOUNT FOR MY OLD WASHER AS WELL AS A $20.00 DISCOUNT FOR A DRYER THAT I PURCHASED A FEW YEARS AGO THAT WONT HEAT NOW AS STATED IN MY ORIG. COMPLAINT.AND IF YOU GO TO SOUTH BEND IND. [redacted] YOU WILL SEE THEIR ADD WHERE THEY BUY JUNK APPLIANCES AND MAKE MINOR REPAIRS TO GET THEM RUNNING FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME.AND I MYSELF HAVE BEEN GIVEN A USED CONTROL PANEL FOR ABOVE WASHER AT NO COST I CHANGED IT MYSELF.SO THE APLLIANCES THAT THEY BUY AND CANT REPAIR ARE STRIPPED DOWN FOR PARTS THEY HAVE A HUGE PARTS BEN OF OLD WASHERS IN BACK THAT IS USED JUST FOR PARTS AND A USED TRANSMISSION IS ABOUT $60.00 ONLINE BUT WOULD BE FREE FOR THEM FROM THEIR PARTS BEN THATS WHY I NO IT WOULD HAVE BEEN LESS THEN $100.00 TO REPAIR MY WASHER.THERE IS A YOU TUBE VIDEO MY WIFE SAW OF A MAYTAG WASHER TRANSMISSION BEING REPLACED IN LESS THEN AN HOUR SEE FOR YOURSELF.I GO TO CHURCH EVERY SUNDAY AND HAVE NO REASON TO LIE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN AN EASY FIX FOR THEM TO MAINTAIN GOOD CUSTOMER RELATIONS A LOT OF MY CHURCH MEMBERS ARE WATCHING THIS SMALL BUT SIGNIFICANT CASE AND FEEL THAT THIS BUSINESS SHOULD TREAT LOYAL GOOD CUSTOMERS AS WELL AS EVERYONE ELSE FAIRLY AND NOT JUST USE THE Revdex.com TO PROMOTE A CLEAN SERVICE RECORD WHILE AT THE SAME TIME FIGURING THAT MOST OF THEIR LOW INCOME CUSTOMERS WONT OR DONT EVEN CHECK THEIR RECORD WITH THE Revdex.com, BUY IN THIS COMPUTOR AGE WE ALL NOW LIVE IN I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT THEY DO ESP.WITH THIS CASE.BECAUSE IN THE END GOD IS WATCHING US ALL.SO WIN OR LOSE THEY NO I HAVE NOT LIED AND I NO I AM TELLING THE TRUTH AND IF YOU GO TO SOUTH BEND IND.CRAIGS LIST YOU WILL SEE WASHERS SOME WASHERS FOR $100.00 THEY CAN GET A USED TRANSMISSION FROM THEIR PARTS BEN LOCATED AT THE REAR OF THE BUSINESS AND REPAIRED SAID WASHER OR JUST SOLD ME ANOTHER USED ONE AT OR NEAR COST TO KEEP A LOYAL CUSTOMER WHO IN THE PAST HAS SENT THEM LOTS OF NEW CUSTOMERS.I ALSO NOTICED A SLOW REPLY FROM THEM IN THIS CASE WHICH TO ALL OF US FUTHER INDICATES DECEPTION ON THERE PART.SO THANKS FOR THE Revdex.com WHICH MAINTAINS A VOICE FOR ALL LEGIT CASES OF CUSTOMER ABUSE OR PROBLEMS. In response to the rebuttal I received today June 8, 2015 I must start by saying that no one from Shirley's contacted him by phone. The call he received was not from anyone here. So that must be a lie. 2nd, we did tell him that we could give him $20 for his dryer, but not for the washer because it would be To costly to repair.
We do not make minor repairs on 'junk" appliances. All of our washers are tore down to the ground
And rebuilt from the ground up. We are very picky about any used parts we keep. We do not save any Maytag transmissions, nor have we ever replaced them due to the high cost of repair. We are very
Particular on what we work on as we do nothing under top quality work. We are also very fair to our customers. If [redacted] & [redacted] did not think so they would not have been loyal customers for over 10 years.
We do not order used parts on the internet or anywhere else for that matter. You never know the
Quality. When parts are ordered we only order new., [redacted] & [redacted] have had their washer for a few years now so there is very little we can do. From what I can see here are their options:
1. They can buy that used transmission online & since they found a video on you tube on how to do It they can repair it themselves.
2. They can have it repaired for the approximate price of $288.28 with a new transmission.
3. Come purchase another washer (price non-negotiable as we are not giving anything away for next to nothing as he expects)
4. if he does not like our quality, etc... he can go get another washer somewhere else.

WE DO NOT THINK THEIR RESPONSE IS A FAIR ONE AS YOU CAN SEE THEY LIGHTLY WANT TO GIVE A FAIR PRICE ON A REPLACEMENT AND FURTHERMORE THIS MATTER COULD HAVE BEEN RESOLVED IF THEY HAD TREATED US FAIRLY IN THE BEGINNING.TO PRESERVE GOOD CUSTOMER RELATIONS WHICH SEEMED TO HAVE CHANGED OVER THE YEARS.WE HAVE STATED OUR POSITION AND TOLD THE TRUTH IN THIS MATTER AND FEEL THIS BUSINESS DOES NOT WANT OR REFUSE"S TO COME TO A RESOLUTION THAT IS FAIR IN THIS MATTER AND NOT CLEARLY SPELLING OUT ANY PERCENTAGE OFF IF WE WERE TO PURCHASE THEY ALWAYS SEEM TO HAVE A GREY AREA OR AN EXCUSE INSTEAD OF JUST APPLYING GOOD OLD CUSTOMER SERVICE WITHOUT REALIZING WITHOUT CUSTOMERS OF LOW INCOME THEY WOULD GO OUT OF BUSINESS.AND SEEM TO BE MORE WORRIED ABOUT A GOOD SCORE FROM THE Revdex.com WHICH THEY FAIL TO REALIZE IS IN PLACE TO MAKE SURE ALL PEOPLE ARE TREATED FAIRLY AND NOT JUST GIVEN A TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT RESPONSE SO IN THIS CASE WE ARE GRATEFUL TO THE Revdex.com FOR LETTING OUR VOICE BE HEARD IN THIS MATTER FOR IN THE END GOD IS WATCHING US ALL.
