I purchased Travelex Trip Insurance to protect me and my husband against any unforeseen issues for a trip we booked to Thailand. When I inquired about purchasing a policy this past July, the company stated if you have a medical reason why you can't travel, then cancellation is permitted under the policy I purchased. Unfortunately in October, the doctor no longer wanted me to travel because of complication with my pregnancy and they requested I am frequently monitored because they found issues with the fetal kidneys, and needed me under close medical supervision and flying internationally was no longer an option for our upcoming trip this week. I originally had my midwife and practicing medical provider write a letter for suggesting that the insurance company will accept my cancellation claim. They denied it originally saying I needed more specific information of why I couldn't travel other than pregnancy. I submitted further documentation to support my pregnancy complication an

On July 29th 2016, we purchased airline tickets for our daughter's upcoming wedding in Thailand in March of We paid $2,for our ticketsWe are seniors - & and always purchase trip insurance when we buy tickets
In September we found out the wedding was cancelledWe contacted Justairtickets immediately and were told "sorry - no refunds or cancellations." They told us to contact Travelex Insurance
When we called Travelex Insurance, they said their insurance did not cover cancellations for personal reasons We always purchase travel insurance because of our ages, and we were especially concerned because they were the most expensive tickets we have ever purchasedAlso the wedding was not until March of
Why would we purchase travel insurance if it didn't cover an emergency - personal reason or not? The advertisement was so misleading! When we did finally get to speak to a representative of the company, they asked if we had not read the agreement

I am writing in connection with denial of coverage with respect to the claim of Minoo SassoonThe denial letter cites a portion of the Protection Plan and underlines “unforeseeable events” and the absence of such event as the reason for such denialFurther, the denial letter states the “guided core biopsy on August 8, 2016, [sic] is prior to the purchase of your protection plan”The denial letter is at the least disingenuous, is likely deceitful and undoubtedly deplorableThe section of the Protection Plan cited in the denial letter focuses on the words “unforeseeable events” as the reason coverage was deniedI hope that it was an oversight not to underline the three words that followed, namely, “or their consequences”It is true the surgery was not an unforeseeable eventThat is not in disputeHowever, the consequences of the surgery, specifically the recovery time associated with such surgery were the reason the trip was not completed and why coverage must be extendedIndivi

We booked a trip through *** * *** and purchased the Travel Protection Plan that they offered through Travelex Insurance Services for trip interruption benefits "Up to 100% of Insured Trip Cost" Our trip was interrupted due to inclement weather When we filed our claim with Travelex, we were told that the insurance only covers the portion of the trip booked through *** * *** Therefore they only reimbursed us for $2,of our trip expense The insurance company told us that the domestic flights for our trip were not covered because we booked them through *** Whenever we booked our travel, *** * did not tell us that any trip expenses that were not booked with *** * would not be covered, nor did they offer to book domestic flights for us There is nothing in the description of coverage that informs buyers that this insurance covers only trip expenses booked through *** * We purchased coverage for a trip for two with a total trip value of up to $3, The d
