I paid $(plus the $application fee) for a dog that started snapping at people within ten days of bringing him home By the time a month had passed, he had bitten three people, and Blue Moon (Dee) took no responsibility other than to connect me with their dog behaviorist and to tell me that if I couldn't keep him in my house I would have to find someplace that would board him - but that it was at my expense and it was my liability if he bit anyone thereThey kept coming up with reasons why they couldn't take him back 'at this time' The dog behaviorist told me that his snapping was a characteristic of his breed; that I introduced him incorrectly to people; that people approached him incorrectly that the vet who put a muzzle on him because he kept trying to bite her and her tech is a horrible vet, and should never have done that In the end, after he bit the dog behaviorist, she told me that she had thought I made everything up, but now she realized that I had no

Paid the application fee of $25.00---then heard nothing more about the progress to adopt desired Irish Setter put on the website available for adoption..August 29th2016...No further correspondence from Dee *** administrator
Further efforts to communicate were ignored,by phone and e-mail...Just read similar complaint on your website...Just want the back, because in good faith she knew the dog had several interested parties but did not relay that to me Thankyou

This complaint/accusation is false*** was given not one but two chances to release the dog to our trainer and both times she declinedHere is all the correspondence from first to last.Hi Dee, Just wanted to let you know that *** and I are doing great We're getting to know each
other's habits and enjoying each other's company I'm sure that he is probably missing his buddies at your place because whenever we go for a walk and we see another dog he wants SO badly to go visit, so when we can, we do I have broken one my long-standing rules and am letting him sleep on the bed with me...which, I know, is probably not a good idea, but since he's not that big he doesn't really hog it, and he LOVES, LOVES, LOVES, cuddling up, so the very second I let him come up he snuggles up with me and is quiet as a mouse We have been having lots of lovey time, and he goes for walks at least twice a day On Saturday I'm planning to take him to an unofficial dog park near here called *** *** *** I used to take my dog *** there They have room to run, which I think he will love, and also a very nice place for him to go for a swim. All in all, I think we are getting along great and we're planning to stick together from here on out I'm attaching a couple of photos that you might like. Have a great rest of the week. ***Dear Dee, I don't even know what to say - everything has been going really well with me and ***, and tonight I invited my mom over for dinner and to sleep over Barley snapped at her THREE times, for absolutely no reason For the life of me I cannot figure out why he would do that The first time my mom had just arrived and we were sitting outside saying hi, and when she put her hand toward him to say hi, he snapped at her Her action wasn't fast or anything like that She didn't do anything wrong Both she and I were SO surprised, and we kept trying to figure out why he would do that, especially since I've been able to pick him up and move him around or do whatever I want to with him The second time, we were sitting on the couch, just talking and watching TV, and he reached right out and snapped at her hand, and then it happened again, about ten minutes later All I can tell you is that animals love my mom - she raised all the dogs we had when we were growing up, and they love her I just don't get it I'm bringing *** back to you first thing in the morning I'm so sorry to do that, but this is exactly what I can't have, with four grandchildren frequenting my home It just can't happen If you're able to refund my money, I would really appreciate it If you're not able to, I need to do this anyway. I don't know if it's possible for a dog to get too possessive of its owner...but I have no clue why this happened. If you won't be around, please let me know where I can leave him I'll have to head to work from there. I'm so sorry, Dee I wish I had a better explanation I just don't know... I should be there by about 8am. I'm so sorry. *** *** I can't take him back tomorrowI have a sick dog here that the vet can't seem to diagnoseIf you can't keep him for a few more days put him in boarding until I can take himSorry but this is terrible timing.Hi Dee, Just wanted to acknowledge getting your message Sorry to hear about your sick dog. As far as *** goes, I'm wondering if might have any thoughts or know of anyone who's smart about these things, who could help me figure out what the problem is He has been such a darling since I adopted himI'm open to any thoughts or ideas. ***We do have a lady that handles issues with transitional dogsI will call her today and ask her to give you a callHer name is ***. *** has your number and will be callingYou may call her tonight if you don’t hear from herHer number is ***If she doesn’t answer, please leave a message and she will call you backShe is willing to come to your home if necessary. Dee ***Great, thanks for referring *** to meI would appreciate learning anything I can that may help with this. I hope things get back to healthy and all as soon as possible for you It must be very challenging to handle something like that. ***Hi Dee and ***, Yeah, he nipped at my neighbor today - a woman he has met several times, who has petted him before, and whose dog he is friends withWe went by her house on our morning walk, and her dog and *** have become friends, so we stopped to say hi, and when Jeanette got down on her knee and went to give him a little pet on the back, he snapped at her Jeanette has done that same thing before and there was not a problem, so yes, I'm feeling confused about what to do Jeanette said that it didn't hurt - it was the same thing that he did to my mom where his teeth DO touch the ***, but he doesn't bite Barley and I have been doing fine, but I have two of my grand kids coming for a sleepover this coming weekend so I need to figure out a plan If I KNEW that I could get him to stop this, permanently, I would wait it out, but it's not really practical to think that I'm going to get my grand kids to understand that they have to approach him and do other things in a special way since they're little They all have dogs but have never had this problem with them. I'd be happy to hear your thoughts. Thanks, ***I just talked to *** and she said *** bit your boyfriend twiceDid he break skin? Dee ***Yes, he did break skin the second time, but just barely. I'm very sorry for not sending you and *** an updated email stating that I thought I put it into the email that I sent you about the vet appt. *** contacted me and said the meeting did not go well and she gave you her professional opinion about the issue with *** No one has ever made light of the situation or treated you with disrespectIt’s quite the oppositeWhen you contacted me in August to return *** I had a sick dog here that day that had all the signs of distemperI asked you to wait a few days until the situation was under control but in the meantime you changed your mind about returning him and asked for helpI immediately put you in touch with *** After phone conversations and a visit to your home, you indicated all was well and wanted to keep *** even offered to take him home with her and you declined*** was once again willing to help in the process of returning *** while I’m on vacation. You knew when you adopted *** that he had been in a shelter and we had no credible background on him as with many of our dogsWhen he was here, he was happy and well socialized with people and other dogsHe was loving with you when you met himIf he hadn’t been I’m sure you would not have adopted himHis only issue that was explained to you was his distaste for a crateOnce these dogs are adopted there is always a transition period since no two homes are alikeWe can never predict how a dog will act in one ***s home versus anotherIf there is an issue with a transition, our protocol is to provide adopters professional helpWe did follow protocol with you and provided that helpWe did take responsibility and never once did we treat you with callousness, disdain or disrespect. Dee ***

Revdex.com spoke to Dee at the business: It clearly states that the application fee is non-refundable, due to the popularity of this particular dog I did offer to refund the application fee if the consumer did not get the dog. She has been issued the refund.

The applicant was denied adoption based on her vet reference. Her last dog had not been seen by a vet in 3 years. This is not acceptable and any applicant that does not provide adequate vet care is denied. She was contacted about her vet reference and we received no response.
