Mr. [redacted] , we are sorry to hear you do not feel the matter was resolved. Rudy received no sedatives while hospitalized but was a sick dog receiving aggressive medical treatment for two days to treat his condition. The staff was in daily contact with Ms. [redacted] and all recommended treatments were discussed in detail and agreed upon prior to being initiated. As Mr. [redacted] has concerns remaining, our insurance company will be reaching out to the [redacted] family.

I spoke with a Representative of Blue Pearl on 5/15/17.  After about 10 minutes I informed the Rep that I could see no use in continuing the conversation as she was completely discounting my concerns and simply stated that they only performed procedures that my wife had signed for and authorized.  I began to feel the same way that my wife said that she felt when she took Rudy to them for treatment.  I had tried to explain to the Rep that I did not believe the Xrays or the fluids given were unreasonable treatments under the circumstances.  But, I felt that the sedating the dog to the point that he was unresponsive for two days, that spending two nights at their facility, telling my wife that he either had or might have a heart murmur, pancreatitis, a blockage and even possibly cancer, was the equivalent of "upselling" techniques employed by other industries.  Her response was always that we provided the care that your wife authorized and signed for.  I truly believe that my wife was taken advantage of by Blue Pearl because she was obviously upset about the condition of her pet, that she was from out of town and that it was a weekend and she did not have any other options for treatment.  On Monday, I strongly suggested to my wife that she get him out of that facility, as she was describing to me that his condition seemed to be worsening, not improving, that she take him to another Vet.  I find it truly ironic that the second Vet listened to my wife, addressed those concerns directly and immediately he began to improve.  Within 48 hours he was completely himself.  I reached out to the Revdex.com because I felt the tactics used by Blue Pearl amounted to unfair and abusive business practices.  I truly believe that the priority for Blue Pearl is not what is in the best interest for the animal or its owner, but how can they get the most money out of you.
