Review: I took my male [redacted], named [redacted], into BluePearl's ER at [redacted] on 3/**/13. He was lethargic, unresponsive, and almost dead. He was like a limp ragdoll. I told them that he had exhibited multiple repeat trips to the litter box, practically living inside the litter box that day, and finally urinated blood. That is when I brought him immediately to BluePearl. They examined him, performed a cystocentesis, urinalysis, and urine culture, and to my surprise, told me everything looked fine, that his urinary tract was not blocked, and that they were sending him home with 2 types of oral medication. I was alarmed and dumbfounded. I told them that there was obviously something very wrong with my cat and that sending him home with medication was not going to help. I practically begged them to help him as he obviously needed medical intervention. They firmly repeated to me that he was not in immediate danger, that his urinary tract was not blocked and that the medications they were prescribing were all he needed. I reluctantly took [redacted] home and administered the medication as prescribed. In response to the medication, [redacted] began to foam at the mouth, his body becoming even more limp and I knew he was close to death. I went online, searched for another veterinary ER, and rushed him to VERG in Brooklyn. They examined him and discovered that his urinary tract was completely blocked, and that the toxins in his blood has reached such elevated levels as a result of not being able to urinate, that he was on the verge of death. They told me they needed to take drastic measures to try to get the toxins out of his bloodstream but that there was quite literally only a 50/50 chance of success. They told me that he could pass away during the night as they try to stabilize him. Luckily he did stabilize the next morning, and then he needed surgery to open up his urinary tract. BluePearl almost killed my cat through a serious of multiple misdiagnoses, charging me $597.52 for a service and medications that almost killed my cat. This is absolutely unacceptable.Desired Settlement: A full refund of $597.52.
