Danny’s Electrical Service 1-8- I called for electrical service to change out my front porch light, oven baking element and back porch light, alI had purchased I called several contractors for a quote and decided the Dannys quote seemed fair His rate was $dispatch fee plus $per hour for men for a total of $He was sure to get the work done within hour They had to come from [redacted] VA to [redacted] VA He arrived, finished the work, but then changed the quote to $ He said the new rate was based on for each job: $dispatch fee Install lights Install oven rack $for a total of $ I had to leave work an hour early to give him another checkI questioned his changing the rates, he said he always billed that way I ended up paying $over the quoted cost for roughly minutes of work This is unfair and the unquoted amount should be refunded
I called his company for a free estimate He came today He then charged me for his "travel time, gas and expertise" When making the appointment, there was NO mention of any charges to be incurred
When I told him non of this was conveyed to me and I would not have kept the appointment had I know I'd be charged, he just kept saying it was for his expertise
You cannot charge someone without disclosing a charge up front I'm very angry about this practice Other electrical person's have come for estimate, truly free because they want the job!!
