The business has responded Please see below: This is in response to the complaint dated June *, We are sorry to hear of this customer’s issues with their ice machine Our warranty is one year from the date of purchase so first and foremost this machine is no longer in warrantyAs per the complaint, this customer had an unauthorized technician work on their machineThis would have voided the warranty at that time regardless of the purchase dateWe have no idea what was done to the machine at that service or what parts might have been installedWe don't have any record of parts being ordered so it is possible that non-manufacturer parts were usedThe customer then brought out another tech who we are also unfamiliar withWe absolutely agree that they quoted an outrageous fee to repair this machineBased on the description of the problem, the machine required a $sensor, which we indicated to the customer and could probably could have installed it by themselvesAt this point, we can try to assist this customer to find a local tech in their area We also stock all parts that may be needed for a repairIce machines require maintenance by the [redacted] and this issue was probably caused by not following the maintenance schedule listed in the manual, which is mostly preventative maintenanceThere are only a handful of issues which can go wrong with these machines and we can also fact check any tech estimate to make sure they are not being taken advantage of before any repairs are madeThis unfortunately is a common practice nationwide and we try to protect our customers

Review: Our school purchased a Bluestone commercial ice maker from [redacted] on 11/**/2013 $999.00 It was serviced once with an issue. Several weeks ago the machine stopped making ice. Turned off machine for several days. Turned machine back on continued to make ice but ice overflowing and would not stop making ice. Media Appliance (###-###-####) was called and looked at machine. It was $105 service charge. The repairman stated it would coast $650.00 to repair machine. now it has stopped making ice.................. I have placed a service order via email with no response. We a Catholic school and non profit. An ice maker one and half years old should not brake or service for $650.00 thank you for your help.Desired Settlement: A new commercial ice make of the same or greater value.
