BlueWave Pools & Spas Reviews (8)

I cannot be effusive enough in my praise for BlueWave Pools, and especially for John and Marsha who have been delightful to work with on our new pool. We went with BlueWave as the preferred pool builder for Maracay Homes, who was building our new house and promised the pool would be completed along with the house. From the beginning, we loved the pool that John designed for us and the modern, energy-efficient technology that they use. We also were excited about the travertine deck he designed, creating a beautiful patio for us at a very reasonable cost. However, the thing that was most outstanding about working with BlueWave was their professionalism and service they provided when our home builder dropped the ball. The home builder somehow overlooked the fact that we had ordered a pool despite it being documented in the contract, and this oversight was not caught until several weeks after pool construction should have begun. Even though it was not their mistake, BlueWave stepped up to expedite their process and provided regular updates to keep us informed at every step along the way. This is my first-ever Revdex.com review, but I am so impressed with BlueWave and the superior level of service that they provide that I wanted to make a public recommendation in addition to telling my family and friends about them.

I live in Gilbert Az and had a pool designed and built by Blue Wave Pools . My husband and I are extremely satisfied with Blue Wave. Their sales rep was very knowledgeable, informative, and patient. Their administrative personnel are very polite and kept us well informed of all procedures. All of their subcontractors performed in a very professional, reliable and clean manner.
They made us feel like they really wanted us to have great experience with the whole process and we did. They took the time to "teach us" all about being pool owners so we may truly enjoy it! Thanks to them we will. I would highly recommend their work.

Upon purchasing our new home we were referred by the builder to this company for a pool. We met with [redacted] to discuss our needs, goals and dreams for the pool and patio area. We had a size, design and features all ready in our head, we just needed it put on paper to see if feasible.
On our second meeting we had our CAD drawings presented to us and he told us that because of us having to wait for funding after closing of the home, that we should sign the "price lock contract" so that once the new costs for the year for contractors and materials came about, that we would be locked in for last years rates. We asked if we needed to put down a deposit or anything, but were advised that this was just to lock in the prices, and we would get a final contract once we were closer to building.
[redacted] was very nice to deal with when we first started this project. However, it took a turn when my husband returned from overseas, where he works for 60 days at a time. We wanted to change the design of the pool a little bit and he revamped the estimate of what the new cost would be, which we realized was not going to be possible for getting financing from. We were referred to another pool company by a neighbor for an estimate on the same design.
We called to advise [redacted] at Blue Wave that we were not going to be able to do our pool thru him, because of cost. We were not able to get funded for the amount of the pool design that we planned. [redacted] emailed us back to let us know that they were sorry we weren't able to use them.
We left [redacted] a voicemail stating that we found another vendor who was able to give us everything we asked for and included the higher cost [redacted] along with the [redacted] in ground cleaning system, which were not included in the Blue Wave estimate due to cost. We were hoping that [redacted] would return our call to see if he could price match. This new estimate was $15000 cheaper with all the extras. However, he never called that day or the next, so we signed a contract with our new company and gave a $1000 deposit.
The 3rd day my husband was driving to the airport to catch his flight to [redacted], when [redacted] proceeded to call and berate him for switching companies and not giving him a chance to match the price. He said we were "stupid" for choosing someone else, that we were "not going to get good quality for that price," and plenty of other things. The topper was that he advised us that he "was going to file a cease and desist"order so that our new pool builder couldn't build a pool for us either. My husband was livid that someone in this industry would berate a client, or potential client and not try to be respectful, knowing that word of mouth is the best form or worst form of advertising.
We took our paperwork to a lawyer, and paid $500 to have him look it over, where he advised us and Blue Wave pools that there was no breach of contract, since no money exchanged hands. He advised us that he would reach out to Blue Wave to attempt to resolve this conflict peacefully. [redacted] at Blue Wave refused his attempts for multiple calls and finally left a voice mail stating he would "settle for $500" and that "payment needs to be in the form of a cashiers check as I no longer trust the [redacted]." This voicemail was saved and played to me by the lawyers office.
Had [redacted] asked us to at least pay for the CAD drawings, we gladly would have done so and saved ourselves $500 in attorney fees and the extra wasted money that [redacted] took in the $500. (no CAD drawings cost that much)
We reported his company and his horrible customer service to Maracay Homes and advised them to not refer their potential clients to him, as the service when things don't go his way, gets ugly.

BlueWave just completed a phenomenal job on our pool.

We signed bank paperwork August 3, 2015 and September 30th, 2015 we were filling the pool and swimming by the weekend.

Not a week went by something wasn't being worked on. Steve made us a wonderful 3d view of our yard, we went over specs with him tweaked the drawing a little to what we wanted . Made a mid-dig addendum without a big hassle. There was NO PRESSURE to upgrade anything, ever.

Buffy communicated step by step every few days and Shane made frequent trips to check on progress. The contractors they used were professional and courteous and clean. They arrived between 6 - 8 am and gone by 5 pm. Definitely a good experience building our first pool!
