system in the consumer's home. The consumer claims to "own" the alarm system and its programming. We have monitored the alarm system at the consumer's residence since 2008. The consumer however does not own the monitoring device or programming. The communication device and programming is owned by us and was leased to the consumer pursuant to written agreement. The communication software which the consumer is now demanding is leased, owned by us and we have the right to delete programming and remove the software. This consumer owes us $571.60 as of December *, 2015. As an aside, this consumer owns a business in Brooklyn for which we provided monitoring services to as well. This business owes us $1409.01 for monitoring services as of December *, 2015. Our reputation is important to it and it takes complaints like this one seriously. However, it is the consumer who is in default, not us. While the consumer has a good payment history from 2008 through 2011, in 2011 the consumer fell behind in payment. If the consumer wishes to resolve this matter he must pay the balance owed under both contracts.
