February 22, 2016On August 13th, 2015 (2:45 PM) client mother called our office to set up an appointment for client and was informed of the outstanding balance of $30.00 (note: the balance is split and breaks down $29.56 and 44 totaling $30.00) and when she was told about a balance she became very...

agitated. Immediately, mother became very frustrated and we believe she did not fully understand what was due nor did she allow the staff to fully explain. Mother stated several times that she "will not be paying any of the bill" and then hung up the phone abruptly. The date of service that was outstanding was from service dates in October 2013 and March 2014.Our office further reviewed this outstanding balance and has beer in contact with the patient's insurance carrier on behalf of the patient. After speaking with them we have corrected the provider responsibility which was processed incorrectly on the account. We have contacted the collection agency and pulled the account, stopping all further account on the account. The balance on the account now sits at zero ($.00).It is unfortunate that the patient or her mother had refused to speak to us back in August regarding this matter as it would have been resolved in a timelier manner.Sincerely,Yong S Shin and Associates

Her Primary insurance processed two dates of service with $78.00 deductible each. Her secondary insurance, which we...

accept on an InPatient basis, has not processed the claims yet. However all other dates, for the same service were processed and paid without complications from both Primary and Secondary insurance. The dates in question were denied due to Coordination of Benefits (COB) information. When an insurance company denies a claim for COB information it is the member's responsibility to contact them and give the needed information, not the provider's office. This member was instructed to contact her insurance and refused. However, due to the age of the claims and the time and effort staff has already spent on this I am waiving the balance for this member.Thank You,Susan F[redacted] Collections Manager
