Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: While I appreciate the effort In the end this offers means that i'm still having to pay to repair the mistake made by BMW service I dropped off a vehicle that was fully functional and received the same vehicle with a broken part I should be made whole and not by my effortsThe way the latest offer is set up I have to pay a reduced price and supply the labor While BMW service just breaks even on the part or makes a little profitThis hardly seems justified Regards, [redacted]

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find this somewhat satisfactory I have had to replace the key much sooner than the response from the dealer, and therefore cannot provide a receipt as it was over a week ago the work was done The cost was $and will accept that amount as the issue being resolved Regards, [redacted]

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: This is an insult and slap in the faceGreat way to keep your clientele Regards, [redacted] ***

We have done due dilegence with the previous owner in respect to gaining access to any additional keys The vehicle was promoted and purchased "as is" The pre-owned department is willing to provide up to $assistance towards the purchase of a new key We would reimburse by check with a receipt of purchase

The vehicle was in the shop on different occasions, and 15576 miles and there was no concern regarding steering vibration. My original offer to install or tires at 15% off is still available if you choose to accept it

I am rejecting this response because:
The work done on my vehicle was not restricted to the trunk It was a battery cable that ran from the trunk to the front of the engine Any lay man will tell you that if not properly grounded an electrical discharge can run and cause damage across the entire vehicle Essentially, resulting in faults on any portion of the vehicle electronics Mr*** would do well to be better informed about vehicles and possibilities before responding with matter of fact assertions I am an electronics expert, however it doesn't take but an unbiased, rational, and reasonable individual to come to the same conclusion That beingthat an electrical discharge can cause unforeseen damage anywhereJust as a lighting strike and its damage are unpredictable so is the damage from an electrical discharge Given the history whether short or not has shown carelessness on the part of BMW technicians (at times more than once on the same job) so a reasonable individual will also come to the conclusion that the likelihood of damage admittedly on the site of this repair shop is statistically likely Furthermore, I am not the only individual crying foul due to careless work performed at this location I maintain that the damage was caused at and by BMW technicians due to negligent work as has been demonstrated by the instances work has been done at BMW whether limited or notContrary to Mr*** insinuations and assumptions which are without merit or evidence No other shop has performed service on this vehicle since it has been in my possession Thus, 20% off does not indemnify me for the damage caused on my vehicle at BMW I seek only to be made wholeThe only middle ground I would hesitantly accept would be to provided the part that needs to be replaced for no chargeI can have a trusted master Mechanic perform the installI believe this to be an inexpensive concession for the trouble and experience to which I have been exposed to The part retails at 400-meaning wholesale cost is likely 200- A rather small price to pay to redeem some bit of honor on the part of BMW service This is the only middle ground I can give Anything less is unacceptable

I am rejecting this response because: This is the scheme that many dealers play with their customersFor wear items like tires, they say they can't reproduce the issue and put it in writingThat is until its time to get that wear item, such as a pair of tires replaced, then they blame the customer or the tires. Based on my complaint about the vibration at the K mark should be be giving me the benefit of the doubt and having content provide me at least 75% off bran new tiresThe technician the drove with me that time did in fact notice the vibration, they just chose to notate "no trouble found" or could not replicate 15% discount is not acceptable. I am willing to replace all tires or at least at much higher discount.

In Response to Complaint ID#[redacted]

The repair done during this visit involved a positive battery cable connector located in the trunk area of Mr. [redacted]’s vehicle.  I have verified with the shop foreman that there is not even a remote possibility that our repair could have...

contributed to the failure of the shift component.  It is unfortunate that items on Mr. [redacted]’s 98000 mile vehicle would fail in our shop and we would want to offer a 20% parts and labor savings on the necessary repairs.  We have seen Mr. [redacted]’s vehicle one time at 49000 miles and then not again until 85000.  It is apparent that other (shops and technicians) have worked on his vehicle.  In consideration of his return visit for some undercarriage parts we can offer a full tank of fuel.

Mr. [redacted], I have read your concerns. I see that your first visitto BMW of [redacted] was 8/13 at this time the vehicle had 7554 miles and yourconcern was a steering wheel vibration at 40-55 mph. On that visit thetechnician reported that no vibration was detected and no repairs were attempted. The next...

time the vehicle came in for service was 2/14 @ 14552 miles @ thisvisit you stated the drivers side vent was loose and would not adjust and thatthe audio button on the middle console sticks. The vent issue was confirmed anda new part was ordered and the sticking button was related to a liquid causingthe condition and an estimate was provided to repair it. The estimate toreplace this component was (is) 585.61 and was not repaired. On3/14 @ 15576 miles your visit was to install the special ordered ac vent and wiperinserts. On 12/30/14 @ 22616 miles your stated concerns; noise when braking, vibration when braking between 60-80mph, the drivers vent (previously replaced)was loose, maintenance(oil and filter, brake fluid renewal, microfilter, brake lining light on) buzzing noise from the air conditioner with bloweron medium speed and a shake in wheel at 52-58 mph. All service items werecompleted, the attachment clip for the air vent failed and was re secured, theair conditioner intake screen replaced and the debris was cleared (leaves). The brake noise was corrected by deglazing the brake pads and no vibration wasdetected upon braking. The steering vibration concern was an add on to the lastrepair ticket. There had been no complaints on the previous visits regarding asteering shake.  I have spoken with 4 outof the 7 people that looked into your concern. The first foreman drove yourvehicle heard a harmonic sound that made him think that possibly there was awheel bearing issue so your vehicle wentfrom the tire shop to the service shop where a technician raised your vehicle toinspect for a sound that the first foreman heard. There was no problem with thebearing and no abnormal noise or vibration experienced by the technician orsecond foreman. Since we were experiencing conflicting diagnosis a thirdforeman wasask to drive for the concern. What he ask was what should have been the numberone item to check and that was tires. The 3rd foremen ask that wheels and tiresbe swopped for purpose of test. Therear tires are close to the wear bars and have been recommended for replacementand the front being slightly out of round to be replaced for the smoothest ride.I have spoken to the Continental Tire company and they have supplied me withthe work sheet for possible assistance on the tires. If you would like me to pursuethis for you I would happy to oblige. It would require you to bring yourvehicle into the dealership so that we can access specific information on thetire(s).I feel the dealership may have overly attempted a remedy of your concernwithout a clear explanation but do not feel we were fraudulent in anyway. I amhappy to provide a 15% discount for the inconvenience of the situation for all recommendedrepairs; tires, [redacted]gnment and idrive controller.Thank you, Penny Boos
