We are not going to offer any further assistance for this repair, again, I feel that the vehicle was diagnosed as per diagnostic procedures, BMW is very specific when following diagnostic steps to repair a vehicleThe vehicle does not have to demonstrate any type of concerns for the dme to trigger a code, this vehicle had codes that indicated that there was some sort of failure in the thermostat

Thank you Dan B[redacted]

This business response was received by Revdex.com via email and is a copy/paste by **.[redacted] purchased the 2007 BMW X3, with 93,994 miles, from our dealership on October 31, 2015.  Attached are the documents that were signed at the time of purchase.  The Buyers Guide that [redacted]...

[redacted] signed states that the vehicle was sold "As Is".  I have also included a copy of the optional coverages that were offered to [redacted] at the time of delivery and he declined.  The final document is a copy of the signed purchase agreement.  [redacted] drove his X3 into our service department on December 27, 2017 stating that the vehicle would not go into reverse.  The mileage at the time of service write up was 114,948 miles. After diagnosis, a transmission replacement was quoted due to failure.  The quote for the repair was $8133 plus tax and shop charges.  [redacted] was unhappy with the cost of the work that was needed and asked to speak with someone in sales for an appraisal.  The sales department offered [redacted] $2000 on trade knowing that his vehicle required a new transmission.  [redacted] left the dealership unhappy with the trade value that he was offered.  [redacted] received a survey from BMW North America and made the following comments. “cause you guys suck! you're a bunch of arrogant [redacted]! No remedy offered for selling me a lemon. Broke down before Christmas...only thing you said is "Its worthless". I'm one unhappy customer!!” Due to the fact that the vehicle was sold over 2 years ago and that the vehicle has an additional 20,954 miles since it was delivered in October of 2015, BMW of Westlake and BMW of Middleburg Heights will not be offering any reimbursement to [redacted]. for the purchase of his BMW X3.  However, we are willing to help reduce the cost of the transmission replacement.  [redacted] can have the transmission replaced at our Middleburg Heights location for $6836 plus tax and shop charges.  This is a savings of $1297. Sincerely, Jeff H[redacted]Director of Guest RelationsBMW of Westlake [redacted]BMW of Westlake South [redacted]We don’t have customers.  We have fans.

I was able to contact [redacted] today, we spoke about the issue and he is sending me copies of the pictures taken of the issue along with receipts for the work done. According to the conversation the dealership that looked at the car and advised it was in an accident was incorrect. The customer took the...

vehicle to an independent shop and upon inspection front that the satellite receiver on the trunk lids seal had gone bad and was leaking water into the trunk. The customer had the receiver resealed and has not had an issue since the repair. The customer had owned the car for over 2 1/2 years when the issue was detected.  I have asked [redacted] to email me the information and I will review. I am confident we can do something to assist the customer and I am grateful that all the information supplied at the time of sale was correct on the vehicle. I will forward our mutually agreed upon resolution when we have completed it.  Adam M[redacted]General Manager BMW of Westlake.
